My mother received such loving, gentle, kind and professional care from all the staff at Lathbury - they really treated her as if she was their own loved one.nShe enjoyed her meals and especially a glass of wine with them! And a very yummy pudding, cake, chocolate or ice lolly was never far away!nIt was a real privilege to observe the way the carers interacted with all the residents, whatever their needs.
My grandfather was here and received such poor care that we have had to involve social services and CQC. Complaints are being made against Lathbury Manor for their lack of care towards their vulnerable patients. He should’ve been sent to hospital to receive medical care, but instead he was sent home to a vulnerable 82 year old woman who was sick. He is now in hospital as a result. Aside from this, he caught Covid in an outbreak at the home, and then sent back home to give to his vulnerable wife after they told us he would not be let out if showing symptoms, which was not the case. You can check out their poorly low rating on CQC for reference.nMy advice is to avoid this care home at all costs!
I recently needed to find respite care urgently for my mother. The staff could not have been more helpful. My mother is still there and her health and condition have improved significantly thanks to the care she has received.

If you want a true reflection of this care home, please check CQC report as you will see the report shows a poor rating and other investigations are on going and this can be confirmed by CQC. I myself can say my father was here for a short time and as a result of poor care is now in hospital very sick. in my view please keep your loved ones away from this care home, if I could I would give a 0 star rating!
