A fantastic hotel, ideal for a weekend break from London. We stayed here for 1 night over Easter and dined (dinner and breakfast) at the hotel's restaurant. The building is listed, well-preserved, the grounds well manicured, and the rooms have charming quirks (ours had a split level with bathroom up a flight of stairs). The sheets, towels and linens are all perfect, the rooms are spotless, and the common areas, in particular the restaurant, have been recently updated and are very well presented. They could make a few improvements though - portion sizes on the dinner menu were on the smaller size and the quality of the wine on offer for the prices charged was a little underwhelming. Overall, an excellent stay.

We visited for an "afternoon tea", which had been purchased for us as a joint birthday present. We were very fortunate that the weather was warm enough for us to sit outside and enjoy the views of the lovely gardens. We had booked for 13:30, but arrived early. As the table was ready we were able to go straight out. The location of the hotel is on the edge of Horley and the very old building is set in some beautifully presented grounds that include ponds with and orchards to explore. The selection of teas and coffees was very wide and we were offered a refill when required. The food consisted of some dainty sandwiches, some vegetarian pastry slices and both fruit and plain scones with cream and strawberry jam. We concluded with a selection of small but delicious cakes. The service was just right, helpful but not overly fussy. We visited on a weekday, so they were not too buy. Overall a really nice place to go for a treat.

We chose the Langshott Manor for Afternoon Tea to celebrate a family members special Birthday. There were eleven of us plus a toddler in the party and the Manor very kindly gave us a private dining room upstairs. Two of our group were elderly and preferred to choose from the lunch menu rather than take Afternoon Tea. Despite the separate menu orders all of our food turned up together. The Afternoon Tea was pleasant with a mixture of sweet treats and sandwiches. Some of our party requested more sandwiches which incurred an extra charge of £4.50 per head, the waitress appeared 'put out' when she was asked for more and her response was very exaggerated, "you will have to pay £4.50 each" she said, it was as if she thought we wouldn't want to pay the extra (although in hindsight £4.50 per head is quite excessive for four fingers of sandwiches when a high price has already been paid for tea). Also we were left to our own devices for too long, my tea went cold as I had to wait for sugar to be sent up. Also no-one in our party was asked if we would like a 'top up' for our teapots, this should be done automatically as part of the Afternoon Tea experience! All in all it was an okay afternoon, it could have been better and there were a few gripes, mainly concerning the waiting staff, but these were ironed out afterwards with the Hotel. I would return to The Langshott Manor but maybe just for lunch!

My other half took me here for my birthday weekend, the hotel, the grounds and entrance are simply stunning. Our room was so cosy with a Victorian style to it named after one of Henry VIII wives. Dinner in the hotel was lush we took the more relaxed approach and sat in front of a log fire while it was snowing outside. Instead of dining in the restaurant. On the down side We felt the restaurant menu a little too fancy but the bar menu was much better. Menu could have done with bit more variety and the kitchen where they cook food back door to it was wide open even at breakfast despite the cold weather, which meant the dining room was cold but rest of hotel beautifully warm. Having the doors open on such grounds near lakes would also worry me in regards to vermin entering the kitchens. Not that we saw anything Lovely place for a well earned peaceful break however.

Me and my friend went for afternoon tea and the location is lovely. We had a corner table looking out to the gardens. We both only drink decaf tea and were told that they had ran out. My friend chose decaf coffee and as I don’t drink coffee I had to have normal tea. The first tea and coffee pots that came out were luke warm and we sent them back. The second pots were better but not hot. The food was a nice little selection and as a vegetarian I was catered for very well however after the food had been left with us for a while a waitress came out and grabbed one of the pots and replaced it with another vegetarian friendly one so I guess it’s a good job I hadn’t already eaten it. Half way through we were told that they’d had a delivery of decaf tea and we got a new pot which was hot. The food was very nice shame that after we had eaten our scones we saw a black hair on the serviette that they had been sitting on. We didn’t mention anything as we didn’t want to make a scene. All in all those little details let the whole experience down.
