Lovely place, we've stayed here twice, both cottages are cosy with everything you'd need, will definitely use them again
We stayed in one of the cottages. It was beautiful, comfortable, clean and had a lovely view. We really enjoyed our time here. There was parking available and Internet, although the speeds were very slow due to being out in the countryside.
Amazing food! Absolutely divine. Best food I've had since going to a 2 Michelin star restaurant a few years ago. Amazing tastes perfect portion sizes excellent quality food. Can't wait to go again and try out some other dishes!
Superb food, so tasty. The service was great, very friendly staff and helpful. The location is nice and has plenty of parking.
A great Sunday lunch. Nice atmosphere, and staff.
Great service. Fab food. Excellent gluten free choice. Top marks
Me and a good friend went here tonight and i couldn't stop singing there praises of past experiences. We got in there and was shown to our seat's. A cider and lager top for drinks followed by our starters which was lovely. Then the main course come and when i say i never complain about food i really mean i do not ever complain but i simply couldn't sit there and eat what was put infront of me. I had a 8oz steak as did my friend and the steak looked like something you would get from Iceland supermarket and i couldn't even cut through it with my knife. For £17.95 or what ever it was you get a steak chunky chips and mushrooms with a tomato. No peas or onion rings so on ordering i ask for peas and onion rings as an extra and they said that was fine. Only the onion rings come out and they was raw onions in very hard batter full of grease and the mushrooms was burnt. I called the waitress over and politely said about this and she went straight off to make me a new dish. With the other waitress hovering right over our table asking me if it was better this time and she was sorry but we are the last ones in and thats why the chief made a bad plate. Unfortunately i couldn't eat it and raised this with the landlady. She was very forgiving and offered our drinks for free bringing my bill to £60+ The drinks wasnt the issue it was the food and if anything should be discounted surely it should be what you're very Unfortunately complaining about? I've been here a number of times with my partner and grandparents and couldn't of praised the food and service enough so very disappointed to see such a slip in quality. I'm genuinely gutted having to write such a bad review on somewhere I'd always love to go as a treat from time to time...
Wonderful Sunday lunch. Three course meal for £25.99 each which is optional as you can have one or two courses as well. We had mushroom soup to start which was thick and creamy and delicious. We both had the roast beef which just melted in your mouth. All the potatoes and veg were served separately which I like and do at home. Wonderful Yorkshire pud which unlike some places wasn’t overdone and was just right. The roast potatoes were crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. We had chocolate brownie with walnuts and apricot and syrup tarts. Both heavenly and beautiful presented. It was the best Sunday roast I’ve had in a restaurant. The staff were very friendly and attentive but not overbearing and left ample room between courses. Highly recommend the Lamb on Strand. A warm and cosy country pub in a lovely setting.
Highly recommended for a wonderful dining experience. Thoroughly enjoyed a two course Sunday lunch an hour ago! Food of good quality and all elements of the main course cooked well. Served hot and stater display was very pleasing to the eye. Would certainly recommend. Opened til 5pm on a Sunday which is a bonus.
Really nice menu with excellent quality food. The nachos seemed home made and were terrific. Lovely, tasty homemade tomato and sweet pepper salsa. Gammon steak was very generous and the beef and ale pudding was melt in the mouth tender. We'll definitely visit again.
