Good little Italian restaurant in the centre of Leicester. I don't know of many Italian places in the city centre but this was pretty good. Went for a staff night out and everyone enjoyed their meal. The staff were very friendly and they spoke Italian, which is a surprise when you consider this is a chain restaurant. Vegetarian options: Many veggie options available Parking: Paid Street parking if you can find it, hard to find parking in this area
If i could give 10* i would. Service was immaculate. Food was phenomenal. Drink, gosh drinks was just worth every penny. My friends birthday celebrated there, atmosphere was beautiful and chic, deffo gramable. Price was decent. We had a starter 3 drinks 2 mains and 2 deserts came to about £70 Honestly was worth it.
San Carlo feels like the definition of style over substance. While the aesthetics of the restaurant are high-end, it's not reflected in the dining experience. The food itself was relatively subpar, especially for the price, and the unlabelled vegetarian options were limited. We also faced large wait times, both for getting our order taken and when receiving the bill. After the food was ordered, however, it was expedient. Another negative was being sat next to another pair of diners even though the restaurant was relatively empty with plenty of individual tables. There are positives though. The staff member at the entrance was very nice, the waiters were polite, and the food presentation was appealing. Ultimately San Carlo is worth it if you want to impress but there are better options in the city for intimate meals. Vegetarian options: Few options and they're unlabelled on the menu.
I am absolutely delighted by this place. The service was superb with Piras, he gave us such great recommendations that I would have had seconds if I had room left to eat. Unfortunately, I did not take the name of our second waiter who was very kind and friendly. The food was to die for!!We got mussels in cream sauce and thinly sliced beef with Parmesan cheese that we couldn’t have enough of. For our mains, we had a pizza and pasta that were both really good, but no where near our starters. We ordered half a bottle of wine that complemented the food perfectly. I don’t remember the name of the dishes, but I do have pictures. Don’t mind my bad photography skills
We had the best experience at st Carlos on Friday for my birthday, the service was incredible, the food was beautiful. The waiters and waitresses were smiling and were very welcoming. Each staff member held incredible professionalism. I will definitely be returning.
The aesthetics of the restaurant were incredibe and so festive! The lively ambience makes it a perfect spot to visit for date night or with friends & family The food was full of flavour! The lobster ravioli was divine the Capesante al Forno scallops was quite disappointing as there was too many breadcrumbs! Gamberoni Luciana is a must try too, it was so delish! Service was a bit slow as it was so busy but the staff were friendly Would highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you love Italian food
The atmosphere and ambience is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was impressed with the starters, bread and olives However, the penne arrabbiata was dry, spicy and lacked flavour. Not what I've experienced in the past. May give it another try in the future. Would be good if there was an increased variety for vegetarians.
The atmosphere, food and customer service is soo good! Staff are very friendly and accommodating! Will definitely be going back!Food: 5/5
I’ve visited twice in December. 1st time was busy and the staff were great. 2nd visit was terrible. Not busy at all and our order was forgotten and took over an hour to arrive. All the staff avoided our table as they knew we’d waited so long and every time we asked about our food, the staff were very rude and even blamed the kitchen staff! Some money was knocked off our bill after i had to complain about the rudeness and lack of apologies. Food was nice but wouldn’t go again with so many other great Italian restaurants in Leicester.
Definately a place to avoid by the end of the meal £30 for 3 items after half the items were refunded lasanga was oily and unappatising. And with an open kitchen could see how it was made defrosted in a microwave and then put in the oven to melt the cheese. The ravioli was raw after the waiter tried to explain that it has to be served al dente. I cut it open to show them that there is a difference between raw and aldente and had 2 return 2 portions back to the kitchen. To top it off £18.95 a dish to recieve 4 pieces of ravioli. Beyond a joke. Very slow service with it not being that busy when we walked in took 45 minutes to recieve our food which was no where near to being worth the wait. A gimic restaurant that goes for looks rather than quality.
