Had my Birthday meal here on Firday 12th - there was 8 guests who were eating from the tapas menu.
Going to be blunt - i rarely write reviews but this was a HORRENDOUS shambles of POOR service and CLUELESS, UNINTERESTED staff.
DO NOT COME HERE if you are hosting an event - i was never given a happy birthday welcoming by any staff member, no complimentary drinks and the two males and female who served our table were clueless and purposefully not telling anyone what was on the 241 cocktail menu so EVERYONE got ripped off. One of my cocktails was 241 but the woman who took my order (unenthusiastic and almost didn't go round the whole table until i told her to - isn't this your job?) and only came back with one cocktail...i then had to ask THREE TIMES where my other cocktail was?? Terrible - they clearly couldn't be bothered and thought I wouldn't notice.
Also towards the end two couples also decided to join out table who weren't even part of our group so no monitoring of who was coming over and plonking themselves down?
Sort it out guys - myself and my guests were pretty disappointed by you - you made no effort considering it was briefed to Jack Brett (AM) that it was my birthday? 
1 extra star for the food - this was the only decent thing! Wont be coming here again.

Great cocktails, amazing food, just a shame the decor lets it down. 
We went on a quiet Tuesday evening, so can't comment on the live music/DJ nights I hear about in other reviews. But the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the tapas portions surprisingly large! Will definitely be heading back on a busier night. Maybe the worn furniture is hidden when there's a crowd in.

I hate to say this... Last time I went to La Raza it was substandard at best. The menu was 'new' which meant they had taken off a bunch of epic signature (and my favourite) dishes. The portion sizes seemed ok until we realised that they were mostly sauce or oil and not substantially filling as before until you gorge on bread. As a long time old customer I contacted the manager back then to find out why they were doing this and to give fair chance of honest dialog and got no response. The reason I'm posting this is because people were 'liking' my review even now it's so old, but La Raza is not the same place it used to be. Very sad & gutted.

Previous and very old review (like pre-2012):
Food is consistent and amazing, altho sometimes they run out of things (and always when I want to order them!) which sucks!  Prices are reasonable, and the staff are always friendly.  If you can, catch the live music as well, great atmosphere.

Good cocktails especially an expresso martini, although a bit pricey! Need to go back and try the tapas next.
