Great place to eat out with some local atmosphere. Server is fluent in English and English menus are provided. Highly recommend the Prime rib done in Medium Rare. House fries with house made sauce is amazing. Also, ask for the wine that would fit your food.
Stumbled across this place by accident as the Italian restaurant we’d wanted to go to was full. I’m glad we did. While the menu is typical French bistrot fare, the waiter was attentive and friendly. We were hungry, but not that hungry and it was no problem to split items. All in all a great experience. The staff spoke good English, and English menus were provided as required.
Good food, friendly service at a quiet square in historical center of Paris!
Loved this place! My daughter were staying in St Catherine's square so we came here to times and were not disappointed. Service was attentive and helpful. We ordered the tuna tartar both times for appetizer it was very fresh and tasty as were the avocados. She ordered the bacon cheeseburger - OMG so good! The fixings were great but the quality of the beef was terrific add well. I ordered the baked tomato with chévere and pesto whick was unique and really tasty but could have been baked little longer. I also highly recommend the lava cake for dessert!
Steak was good, service ok. What I liked most was the location and the terrace. Might not be one of my Paris favourite’s, but it’s still a nice place.
We were exhausted after flying all night from the US and chose Le Bistro de la Place for our first restaurant in Paris across the street from our flat. We had a delightful dining experience and the owner and staff were so patient dealing with our rudimentary French. I woke the next morning only to discover my purse with my passport, money and credit cards was not in our flat. We quickly returned to the restaurant and the owner was happy to return my purse and nothing was missing. He had even gone so far as to call local hotels to try to find us. We returned 3 more times each time enjoying a delicious meal. Not only was the food excellent but the owner, Claude, and his waiter, Johan, were truly special people. We highly recommend this restaurant. We were in Paris for 15 nights.
Lovely place with great ambiance, fantastic food and service
Worst food we had in Paris. No effort made, everything was bland we didn’t even finish our dinner.
The setting is simply outstanding. Great service. Excellent food, ask for the Fondant de bœuf mijoté
A hidden gem! Enjoy a wonderful meal on the square We visited this restaurant by chance. We arrived at the square and considered several of the restaurants. This one happened to have a table just freeing up as we arrived. We ate with our 11 and 13 year old children. We were all very pleased with our food. The vegetarian lasagna was wonderful. Our server also recommended a very nice red wine to accompany our meal. Dessert was delicious. The service was friendly and personable too. The next night we ate at a restaurant with a much higher trip advisor rating and it was not nearly as good as this place.
