I would give zero stars if I had the option. The food here is the worst I have ever eaten. I ordered a chicken burger and my husband ordered a beef burger. These were the most tasteless meals we have ever had. The chicken was a pale white colour, looked like it had been boiled with no flavouring or spice on it. The bread was cheap and the chips clearly from the freezer. The beef burger also tasted like it had come from the freezer. Furthermore, they have the audacity to charge £17 each for these. Awful - I highly recommend you DO NOT EAT HERE. Also pub is run down, needs doing up.
Apparently the pub has a new owner. Unfortunately, the food is not good, it tastes like pre-made meals with no care or passion put into them. Don't be fooled by the photos; most of them were taken when the previous owner was running the place.nnThe pub itself is very cozy and full of character. The beer is good, and the service is decent. However, they urgently need to improve the food!
Very uninspiring menu compared to previous year's. Laminated double sided a4 with a 'publisher border' does not cut it in 2026 nor does poorly worded descriptions. Just not inticing. . New managers so may need time to build food offering. Odd that peppercorn or bearnaise sauce can be ordered as an extra when there is no steak offering?! Also £4.95 is a 5* price not a pub. But then without steak on the menu the sauce could be any price !! Beers were good especially proper job. . Please support so they can make a go of it but menu needs looking at to stop the many walk aways i saw before even stepping foot inside and before you open for breakfasts which I overheard being discussed. The kings arms should work !
Absolutely rubbish food, not worth £5 let alone £18 each we paid for a microwave ready meal. Side salad looks like it was left out of the fridge all day as it was dry and some of the leaves were decomposing and brown on the ends. Won't be recommending or eat there again, very surprised for a St Austell Brewery pub.
This place is a pub at the heart of the picturesque Cornish village of St Just. At the time of my visit there were two ales available, both from the local St Austell brewery. There is a fair amount of outdoor seating at the front. I confess I have not tried the food here though the menu looks like quite a comprehensive array of classic British pub grub.
