Story

The Kings Arms Hotel in Abergavenny is a late 16th Century coaching inn, giving a fine example of what much of Abergavenny would have looked like before more formal Georgian modifications.

The Kings Arms Hotel, Abergavenny, offers 11 comfortably furnished en suite bedrooms, a first-class breakfast, a wonderful restaurant (re-opening in April 2013) and a function room to suit any special occassion.

Abergavenny is in the heart of the Brecon Region of Wales with access to a range of outdoor activities including walking, horse riding, canoeing, fishing and paragliding. All of this in breath taking countryside.

The Kings Arms Hotel offers a warm welcome to all our visitors.

Our 10 ensuite bedrooms are furnished with emphasis on the unique and personal. The attention to detail is evident in the thoughtful extras in each room, all boasting digital TV.

Finding the restaurant is incredibly straightforward, and any parking worries are easily sorted thanks to a convenient paid parking lot located just across the road.nnUpon entering, you head straight up the stairs to the dining space tucked away at the back. It is an instantly welcoming environment, beautifully illuminated and feeling incredibly bright and airy—largely thanks to a fantastic skylight that floods the room with natural, flattering light. It sets a wonderfully relaxed yet upscale tone for the meal.nnThe culinary experience here is nothing short of brilliant. Every dish I had hit the mark both visually and on the palate:nMy meal kicked off on a high note with perfectly golden, crispy croquettes served over a fresh bed of mixed greens, topped with crunchy fried onions and accompanied by a wonderfully tangy, herbaceous dipping sauce.nnThe Pan-Fried Sea Bass: For a lighter but equally flavorful option, the fish features a flawlessly crisp, golden skin topped with a vibrant, herby chimichurri or pesto drizzle. It sits alongside perfectly roasted potatoes and a crisp, well-dressed side salad.nnThe Service & VerdictnComplementing the excellent food is the top-tier service. The staff are attentive, warm, and ensure the entire dining experience runs seamlessly. Whether you are looking for a comforting, elevated Sunday roast or a fresh, expertly prepared fish dish, this gem delivers on all fronts.nHighly recommended!
We stopped by on a bank holiday Monday on the off chance of a nice meal and was so impressed.nThe food was delicious, cooked to perfection and was a pleasant surprise given the reasonable price. Excellent value for money with lots of specialist dietary options. The staff were lovely too.nIt's a beautiful old building steeped in history so there was plenty to look and explore. We will definitely be coming back
Had lunch here, really pleasant staff and very welcoming and friendly. For the prices though, what lacked in portions certainly made up for in taste. Probably would visit if in the area again.
We stayed for one night while attending a local wedding . Staff were very helpful and we got an early check in pre wedding and it enabled us to get ready .nOur room was very large room 1 , v comfortable bed , choice of pillows and large bathroom with separate shower and bath . Even a sofa in our room .nRoom was quiet some scaffolding up but didn’t notice anything happening .nBreakfast was good , bacon and sausage both good quality and freshly poached egg .nMost impressed with the staff , all very friendly , showed both my wife and I separately to our room I was parking and good info on taxi companies to use .nAgain welcoming when we got back near closing time and at breakfast .nnParking probably the thing to check before u arrive as I found the local car park confusing to say the least .nnOverall perfect stay
I give a 5 out of 5nnIt was my first time coming to this restaurant.nI was welcomed by a lovely member of staff and show to my table. The staff were very friendly and kind.nnThe staff was amazing on the food as we asked if they could take off some of items when ordering our food and they went out of their way to do that for us. The food was delicious, tasty and warm.nnThe pub was clean, fresh and tide. They have a lovely function room and have rooms to stay in too. They have wi-fi to connect too.nnI would definitely come back again.
