Passed by Tarvin a couple of weeks back, thought we'd get a takeaway for tea. Had fish and chips, smaller portion was quite sufficient. Lovely food, freshly cooked and hot. Some of the best fish and chips I've had in years. Also must be said most expensive chippy I've been to in a while. Had curry sauce too, which was very spicy, so maybe a health warning needed there so people know. Also was more of a paste on the chips rather than a sauce. Maybe needed more liquid? Friendly happy staff working there. Parking is a bit awkward here, but you can just park down the road a bit.
Absolutely excellent, have to say it's been a great many years since we have visited, but we wanted some decent fish and chips & have to say they are fantastic, the portion sizes are exceptional - if you are hungry this is the place for you! The staff are so friendly, they are a credit to the fish bar. Thank you & we definitely won't be leaving as long next time!
To get to King Loui I drive past 3 other fish and chip shops, because when I treat myself to fish and chips I want the best around. I can get fish and chips cheaper but they simply aren't as good. King Loui cooks fresh to order, the chips are properly cooked not those greasy soggy efforts you see elsewhere. The place is well run, efficient and professional the food is fresh, well cooked and delicious. Listening to the manager speaking to the team and it's clear the focus is on quality, I heard him say it would be a few more mins on chips, he could arguably have put them out there and then and got the queue down but he didn't, he focussed on making a quality product, I think that tells you all you need to know
having just moved house today we decided a 'chippy tea' would be perfect.... we were not disappointed and had already had good recommendations. will definitely continue to visit
I have been using King Louis fish and chip shop since 1977 it has always been especially good throughout the years. However my more recent experiences were very disappointing most of all my last on Friday evening.I purchased a small portion of chips and a small pot of curry at £5.40.When I got back from my drive home and opened the box there was the most sorry looking portion of chips I have ever purchased.Most of the portion consisted of dark and very crispy little triangles. The scrag ends that normally get binned at the very bottom of the tray made up a considerable part of a very small portion of greasy and un appetising chips. It can happen to all of us at some time. What did drive me to leaving a negative review my first is when I rang shortly after to give my feedback I was asked to call back at the end of the night. Got told that I was getting a little ahead of myself regarding the description of what I had received and then Paul the manager put the phone down on me. Well Paul after all the loyalty and good custom starting from when you were not even born I expected better and would have certainly got better from your dad. Paul I urge you to go and get a portion of the out of this world tripple cooked chunky chips from the van at Kelsall Community Centre. That’s where I will keep going in future It’s cheaper, amazing quality and much bigger portion size every time.I guess in a bizarre twist of fate I should thank you
I got recommended from my daughters friend a few week's ago after an afternoon shopping not sure what we was doing for an early dinner so her suggestion let's go there!! We hot there for opening time everything was cooked fresh for our order top marks from our house
The 4 teenage girls working there tonight were brilliant, so hard working, polite and friendly, they are a credit to the shop!!!! Chips were great too!
Stopped to pick up a take away only to find an item missing. I phoned and received a genuine apology. Returned to find my full order was freshly cooked and waiting for me, again with a fullsome apology. I believe it to have been a simple mistake that was then handled in an incredibly pleasant and professional manner. My thanks and congratulations to Paul for his handling of the issue. The food was excellent and worth a 5- recommendation
The best fish and chips I've had for many years, without doubt the best anywhere in or near Chester for sure. No exaggeration - excellent, tasty, hot, fresh and utterly delicious. The staff and service is first class.
So we arrived at Pitch and Canvas. Pitched our tent then the heavens opened to a massive storm and thunder and lightning. My daughter ordered the fish and chips online and I got sent through the dramatic storm to collect it. The guys in the shop were great. Friendly and accommodating. I could see from the portion sizes we had over ordered but that's a good problem to have when camping anyone discovered the tasty treat an omelette with yesterdays chips in is?. Back into the wild weather and into the tent with expectant family. And they were not disappointed. We were all agreed these were the best fish and chips we ever tasted, this is no exaggeration. The chips were absolutely delicious. The fish melt in the mouth. And then the mac and cheese bites they were awesome. And for me the curry sauce I like on fish and chips was such a good sauce. All made the more special as the lightning continued to flash all around the nearby area. Great stuff.
