This was the first time I had used Keystone and was extremely impressed with their service and flexibility. They agreed to lend on two leaseholds containing two flats each, which most other lenders would not consider. Simon Jones, our BDM, was particularly helpful and supportive.
At a time when application processes seem to be bottle necking with many specialist lenders, it was refreshing to submit four fairly complex applications for a portfolio client to Keystone and see them progress to offer with very little friction. Well done team, keep up the good work P.S. 4 stars instead of 5 is just to give you something to strive for :-
As a commercial broker of a certain age, I have an aversion to form filling, especially online. Of all the BTL Mortgage Broker Portals, however, I find Keystone's the easiest to navigate, upload documentation, and file notes for consideration. It allows me to follow and participate in the underwriting process on a daily basis which is critical to keeping my Clients informed and happy. Behind this Portal is a team who are prepared to listen and take onboard my observations, often going the extra mile in getting a deal over the line.
Terrible communication, extortionate fees, unbelievable poor solicitors. Couldn’t not recommend more. Wouldn’t mind paying the high feels if you got a service which was reflected. This is a big case of paying more doesn’t mean a better service. Biggest issue was their own choice of solicitor which I refused to use as again they wanted an Arm and a leg for a simple transaction. I was then penalised for not using them and received the poorest service I’ve ever received in my 7 years in property. We had to escalate a complaint to the highest level just to get them to reply to an email! Wish I could give 0* only reason we have a mortgage with them now is because I’d already paid the extortionate upfront fees.
As a broker I have first hand experience of using Keystone. They have a great approach to underwriting and their regional managers are great with communication and super quick to respond. Shout out to my regional manager, Mark Hindmarsh! Underwriters will also check on submission whether there is a more competitive interest rate available that the broker has overlooked, which is awesome!
This is the first case I have put with Keystone and I have been very impressed with their prompt turnaround, application progressing system and Business Development support from Mark Grogan. Mark responded to emails at after seven o'clock in the evening and contacted underwriters at that time to help get the application agreed so that we could secure the product before the rates increased at midnight. We go above and beyond for clients and it's nice to see a lender and BDM doing the same. Would highly recommend.
Keystone once again impressed me with their professionalism and ability to get tough cases over the bar. Their underwriting criteria is clearly documented and as long as the case stacks up and makes sense, the team at Keystone will do everything they can to to help you through to Offer. Maybe not the fastest but close and you always know where you are with them. My thanks to Matt Hunter - always there to help.
Keystone have been great for my clients needs and in particular I would like to mention Morgan Barnes in the Completions team. She is an absolute asset to the company, when things have gotten a little tricky at the 11th hour nothing has been too much trouble and she really takes the time and attention to get things over the line as you would as if this was your own mortgage, Thank you !
