Had the vegan burger and it was terrible. It had the texture of raw mince and almost no flavour. It looked great but tasted awful - the bun was inedible, went in the bin. Not giving it 1 star coz the sweet potato fries were ok. I won't be giving it another go.

What a lovely place. I struggle to eat healthy on the move and this place is the best. Better than all the other places that are trying to copy this. This place started it in my eyes. Diverse menu with so many options for everyone and macros on the menu. I will be a regular

This is a tricky review to write as there was a lot of contradiction about my recent visit to Kettlebell Kitchen. To clarify, it is not my first choice of place to visit; I'm not one for constantly watching what I eat or the gym. If you are into taking care of yourself to a point of obsession, this is certainly the place for you. It has been styled and marketed in such a way that feels almost intimidating to go into if you're not part of that community, however I tried to put it out of my mind as we went in and took a seat. In case we'd forgotten where we were, the table had a weight inside it and the interior that surrounded us was all chip board and middle of the road R&B. Still I tried to keep an open mind. The menu had a lot of variety with a number of different coffee and smoothie options as well as breakfasts, wraps and other mains. The word 'clean' was written on it roughly 24 times and, as a buzzword diet that has been very much debunked as myth, it was interesting to see it there so many times. It kind of made me want to choose something that didn't have the word 'clean' in it. We get it. It's clean. We went up to order and the staff were very friendly but you can't help but feel that, like many establishments around the Northern Quarter-Ancoats district, it's something or requirement that you 'lift' to work here. The place uses a ticketing system where you will be called when your food is ready. We ordered three wraps and three drinks as well as some nachos and took our seats. This is where I struggled to keep an open mind. I hope this was just an isolated incident but it took around 25 minutes to initially get our food, which is astounding to say they were three wraps and some nachos, at lunch time which wasn't especially busy on a Sunday. My friend's food order didn't come with ours and when he went to ask five minutes later, they were at least honest in saying that they'd forgotten about him. For a place that charges as much as it does for the food and portions it serves, the ticketing system is odd; this isn't fast food. What I can't help but think was that we were not on the same level of priority of others that walked through the door. The staff seemed to know a lot of people which, as community goes, is really nice. But when people who come in twenty minutes after you and order more food than you and get it first on a couple of occasions that I saw, you have to wonder. The drinks, two smoothies and a coffee were all underwhelming; my peanut smoothie just tasted like cold cardboard, my friends coffee tasted watered down and the berry smoothie had flavour but it didn't seem like there was much fruit in there. Onto the good stuff; the food is really good and exceeded expectations. The chicken wrap that I had, the pulled pork one that my partner had and the firecracker chicken one my friend had all had lots of meat, it was flavoursome and satisfied an early Sunday afternoon craving. I tend to feel bloated after eating pretty much anything and I left feeling satisfied and settled and actually made me think a lot more about healthier eating. But I'm afraid it won't be in Kettlebell next time; if you go to the gym a lot or have an exceptionally healthy diet, this is a perfect place to go get something to eat. If you're not, I wouldn't recommend it. That lifestyle is shoved in your face and that's fine if you're into it. For the money you spend, a lot of it you can make at home relatively easy, make more interesting smoothies with actual flavour or you can eat out somewhere where you'll get more food.
