I had a Council Tax query and called the Council Tax department on Monday 3/4/23, however, the automated message mentioned that due to the volume of calls you had to either call back when it was less busy or you had the option to leave your number for a call back, which I did as my query was not urgent. I received a call back the next day from Julie in Customer Services, impressive as it was nice and early. Julie was friendly, professional and very helpful and was able to resolve my query promptly. This is the second time I have used this option and I find it very efficient. The team obviously follow up on calls so I would recommend this option.
Kettering Council along with the Environment department put some signs up in St Andrews Church Grave Area London Road. This was a long time after all our complaints about the dog mess outside our garden gate we were treading in. The whole church yard was not for dog walkers before the pandemic, but were allowed at that time, they haven't changed it back to no dogs. Dogs are running all over the church yard, they mess anywhere, peeing up grave headstones & sometimes mess on graves as well, a lot are left to run all over the place, not all, as some are really good dog owners. In the summer it really does stink at times. The council workmen have had dog mess splattered up when mowing the grounds as we have spoken to them about it. The council printed and put these signs pictured at the end of revue up all around the church yards, some women with a dog the next day ripped them up down and threw them in the dog mess bins, I rescued a couple and put one higher than reach back on the tree outside our garden gated. It stayed in place for over a year, now the council have just been cutting the tree back and ripped the sign down because they said it was screwed in. The council had used a stapler with all the signs before, these tree cutters said that screws and staples will kill trees. So I put the sign on a board and put it back up with garden wire around the tree doing no harm to the tree, they have just took it back down a week later, I saw the men before they took it down and spoke to them, the men said it was stupid to take it down as I had put it up with how they told me, but they were told to by a women supervisor to get it down. This sign was done by the council & environment in the first place. The councils won't do anything about the dog mess, they won't do anything about drug dealers in the same area as we have reported drugs being injected, outside our gate again seen by us, reported to the police who again did nothing. We pay a massive council tax for the privilege of living in a nice area, and get very little in return.nI just wish that dog walkers would keep their dogs on the lead and clear up the dog mess, not to leave it for others or kids to walk in.
