In addition to the three main towns, the towns of An Daingean, Ballybunion, Cahirciveen, Castleisland, Kenmare and Killorglin play a strategic role in servicing their rural catchments as well as supporting and driving the rural economy of the County.
Kerry County Council is a vital agent in ensuring that the needs of both rural and urban communities are catered for.
However, at the same time the Local Authority is required to take an overall, strategic view of the county to ensure that the future development of the county takes place in an integrated and planned manner. This is to ensure that the quality of life for current and future generations is safeguarded, having regard to the county’s unique historical, natural, cultural and sporting heritage.
Together with our staff, and other agencies, including voluntary and state bodies, Kerry County Council seeks to enhance the quality of life of our people and visitors by building sustainable communities and delivering quality services.
