I recently got referred by my GP who was amazing and I got called to Canterbury very quickly. I was so nervous but all the staff from reception to Nurses and Dr's were unbelievably caring . Mid 40's having my first ever mammogram. One woman stood out was Bev. The hardest part of the experience and she made me feel ok. They say the NHS is broken, no it's not. The Gov is broken not these hard working highly educated skilled hard working people. Thank you
My mother is currently on an acute ward due to a stroke and infection complicated rather than straight forward case. My experience to date over past two days since admission has been excellent for care, for nursing, and for doctor liaison. Very helpful, friendly, and professional on all of the three areas mentioned. All of these matter for patient and for next of kin myself for they give best possible outcome for, from my mother's extreme medical position, successful recovery. So happy as well seeing at first hand the fantastic humanity and professionalism of all members of the team Harbledown Ward who have ethnic minority or internationally recruited contexts. Meant a lot to me whose partner is Nepali to speak yesterday with a Nepali nurse of that ward a wonderful humane and fantastically professional person. All our NHS frontline staff are real heroes.
Invicter ward 2022 july/august Just wanted to say thanks to all staff from nurses doctors porters wards help kitchen staff, cleaners and care assistants. Relative spent few weeks here got better when transferred from margate rehab good and encouraging to see all staff did it. Good care staff went out of they way to help relative and our family. Good hygiene practices and good diets. Happy staff good management. Thanks alot for everything.
The dental department is my worst ever experience. A young female person examined my teeth and said she would perform an extraction. I told her my oncologist at St Georges, London was on holiday. Hence my visit to this hospital. She tapped the right lower second tooth in with a metal object which made jump, then declared "I will extract that tooth" i replied "o no you don't, I had radiation at St Georges yrs ago for a nasal cancer and cannot have any surgery for fear of necrosis" She looked blank, she obviously had no idea what necrosis is. It's death of the tissue, leading to eventual death itself. At this she got angry and said if you're not willing to do as I say then you can leave! She hadn't even had an xray arranged. Appalling service. This young woman who I am not allowed to name is blonde of medium height and build. You've been warned. The very next day I went to a private dentist in Birchington and one of the first things the dentist did was to take an xray. Then confirmed I have an abscess and prescribed antibiotics. But that's not the worst. The butcher at the hospital had planned to remove the wrong tooth. No small wonder as she hadn't even conducted an xray to make an informed decision on treatment. You've been warned do not visit this department at any cost.
Ella at the UTC was absolutely amazing! I was a bit of an idiot and had lost half of my fingernail and she made me so at ease and calmed my nerves and kept the whole situation lighthearted all while treating my finger it was done before i knew it and only thanks to her she was so kind and patient. Best service I could’ve asked for.
I have recently had to visit the Endoscopy Department for 2 separate procedures. On my first occasion there was a long wait because there was an emergency before me. On my second visit I didn't have too long to wait. The staff are very kind & helpful, & the surgeons made me feel at ease. On both occasions I felt in good hands & was not as anxious as I thought it would be. But there can be waits up to 4 hours.
Parking at the hospital is primarily pay-on-foot. On approaching a car park with an entry barrier press the green button to take a ticket. Before returning to your vehicle, you will need to insert the ticket in to one of the Pay Stations which calculates how long you have stayed and how much you need to pay. Weekly permits are also available from the pay stations. They also have 1 Pay and Display car park.
The consultant looking after my dad while he lost his brave fight to cancer wasn't good enough none of the family had faith in her won't name name's yet. Maybe she should look for a career change as she's not a good doctor. Dr C you who who you are.
My visit was for Day Surgery. I was looked after very well. Both before and after my procedure. All staff were courteous and professional.
The staff are always so friendly and approachable in the Kent hospitals, regardless of their job or grade, and they make a real effort to be upbeat and cheerful to put patients at ease. It’s an enormous contrast to the horrible experiences I’ve had with London hospitals, where the staff were abrasive and rude, and didn’t have time for patients who were anxious about their procedure. Kent is doing a far better job!
