Today, I placed an order for Chicken Tikka Masala curry and Lamb Tikka Masala curry for takeaway. However, when I got home and opened the containers, I realized that I had been given the wrong order. Instead of the curries, I found kebabs in the containers. This experience has left me feeling extremely disappointed.Food: 3/5
Recently indulged in a delightful spread at Kebab Mahal, and here's the lowdown: Favorites: 1. Chicken Tikka Bhuna £11.95: A true standout, rich in flavor and satisfaction. 2. Chicken Tikka Biryani £12.95: Fragrant and well-spiced – a biryani worth savoring. 3. Roti £1.95: The star of the show – simply the best, could munch on it all day. Final Thoughts: The combination of Chicken Tikka Bhuna, Chicken Tikka Biryani, and the heavenly Roti makes Kebab Mahal a must-visit. The flavors are rich, and the variety is impressive. A feast worth returning for!
I was introduced to this place 26 years ago as an exchange student by a group of friends. 26 years later, food tastes just as good. The tandooris were well done and moist. And their nan still as large as before. Best to sit in and enjoy.Food: 5/5
Nice vegetable curry, lamb curry, and nan bread, the tea is also great, recommended. You can take away if you can't finish your foods at the restauran. The baklava is good. Located near the mosque you can park your car here; behind the mosque there is parking area. Friendly staffs as well.Food: 4/5
The most delicious food I have eaten in Edinburgh I highly recommend it specially for Muslims as all the food there halalFood: 5/5
One of the best places to eat in Edinburgh. I used to visit this place regularly years ago. Came back to edinburgh for a day trip and still the same quality food. There is loads of fancy places to eat but this place place is simple with great tasting food. Well done guys.
Amazing food, reasonable prices and nice quantity. Overall very impressive!!Food: 5/5
Went for lunch and the Doner Kebab is the bomb. We also ordered a cheese Nan Bread which was soft and tasty. Kebab meat was juicy and they do not skimp on the amount served with the Doner. Veggies were plentiful too. I would definitely come back and try some of the other dishes as everything smelled wonderful.
What a regret. After seeing this place in a few websites for top takeaways in Edinburgh, I had high expectations. On arrival we seen that it was quite busy which is a good sign. We weren’t acknowledged by any staff for a good few minutes. There was only one menu we could see which was being leaned on by other customer. We got our hands on that menu and then chose what we wanted. The menu is vast with lots of dishes. We wanted a kebab. The kebabs didn’t look the most appealing because they were dripping with grease but we thought we’d still give it a go because you should never judge a book by it’s cover. My wife went with a donor with no salad in a pitta. I went for the king chicken mix naan. My wife’s was drowned in mustard dressing. Mines was absolutely humongous. Basically a mountain of kebab meat and unappetising salad wrapped in a giant naan. He had to manhandle the naan in order to secure the filling. We also decided to get 3 different treats that were similar to a baklava. The service was ok. The guy barely smiled and wasn’t the most welcoming or friendly. We at our dinner in the car. My wife’s pitta was falling apart and was the tastiest. The meat itself was ok but the mustard dressing was leaking out. She couldn’t finish it as she wasn’t a fan. My monstrosity was wrapped in paper. The naan was that greasy that it was sticking to the paper when I was trying to unravel it. There was no way of eating it without getting messy. The meat wasn’t anything to write home about. I ended up just using my hands and got completely messy in doing so. Now, I nearly always finish my dinner regardless of how big it not on this occasion. I ate everything bar the scraps. The treats were the only thing which was quite nice. Perhaps eating in would be much better but this was poor in our opinion.
A lovely place to get a bite to eat, great food and great service. Portion sizes are amazing for the price and quality is of a high standard.Food: 5/5
