If you are looking for something a bit different, Katie's Bar in John Street maybe the place for you. Going down from street level into a surprisingly large vaulted area. There are pool tables on the right hand side as you go in. There is a good variety of beers and at reasonable prices. It was quite empty when I visited but began filling up when the karaoke started.
This place is amazing especially with the variety of drinks, live music karaoke they offers. Must visit with friends.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and decent price for double measures no option for singles. My friend and I really enjoyed the drag karaoke. Only gripe is the long queues at the bars.
Katie’s bar was a hoot on st paddy’s day, the Irish dancers and the band were brilliant, what a great start to a brilliant night.
Great place for a few beers. Only thing I didn't like was the random queueing system at the bar. Wasn't sure what was going on as it was all a bit strange. First time at the bar just seemed like first come first served. After that it looked like some people were queueing and the staff were only serving people in the queue and at other times they were serving people who just walked up to a space at the bar. Sometimes I just felt invisible! Other than that it was a great place. Big and spacious with plenty of seats and reservations could be made for groups if required. It had a stage and there was entertainment supplied. Worth a wee visit if your in the vicinity.
Blokes kept giving me their business cards in here, I think it's somewhere folk go for after work drinks. Decent joint.
Been here twice now and love it. No disrespect to any other bar in Glasgow but this is the safest I've felt in a bar. Music's great, the bingo is hilarious! Made some great pals as well! Prices are also decent
bouncers were amazing at making sure I got home safely after being sp1ked. Can not thank them enough
Went to witches market found the bar was very dark. Could do with better lighting.
My only reason for the 4 stars is the accessibility issue which I will of course say that I know it is not totally their fault for how the bullring is built. However I do feel as someone with mobility issues that stairs are fine if it’s once I’m in the building I’m comfortable however sadly in the case of Katie’s the toilets are down another flight of steps. Which causes an issue if you are there for an entire night. I understand that it’s not their fault but is it something to consider if the venue goes through renovations. In all other aspects everything is amazing staff are welcoming and friendly. I would really recommend this place
