A beautiful oasis of tranquility in rural Scotland. Walking around the grounds induced a sense of peace and acceptance. De-stressing even if you’re not stressed. I was blown away by the walls of tributes to lost loved ones and beloved animal friends. It was a pity the visitor facilities remain largely closed at the moment and one can only hope they reopen before it looks like a forgotten mythical mystery.
The most serene and tranquil place on earth. The grounds are stunning the temple is beyond stunning. A must see to visit or retreat too for anyone mo matter their beliefs. So welcoming as soon as you enter the grounds...Rooms: 5/5
Excellent, deeply transformative experience of meditation and mind training within a calm, inspiring environment. The food was simple but nourishing, the rooms modern yet suitable for retreat. The presence of other long-time meditators with their gentle and reflective ways made this a wonderful environment for self-reflection and inner progress. Thank you!
My experience here was absolutely life changing. I met so many wonderful people and the Monks, Nuns and resident volunteers were so lovely. Lama Yeshe Rinpoche and Katan Lama Rinpoche was lovely! The grounds were kept lovely and the surrounding area was just full of beauty and nature of the Scottish Hills and Countryside. Me and my wife stayed in the retreat room inside the heart of the monastery and it was clean and spacious. We stayed there for three days and it came with breakfast lunch and dinner. Being a buddhist monastery the food was vegetarian and it was really lovely. They also have a buddhist gift shop and Tibetan Tea Room also. Being a Buddhist monastery there are rules and etiquette to abide by. There is a timtable of Buddhist Practice and Prayers which were wonderful to attend. I will definitely go there again! Tashi Delek Food & drinks: Food that is served that comes with your booking is vegetarian food. If you wish to go out of the monestary to eat then you would have to go to Lockerbie which is accessible by bus and is 13 miles aways.
Only came for a day visit, such a BEAUTIFUL, TRANQUIL place, resting deep in the valley with such beautiful surroundings....it's a must visit for ALL!!Location: 5/5
We just found this place randomly passing along the road. Seeing the beauty of the buildings we simply had to stop to investigate. While most facilities were closed, we enjoyed a walk through the Stupa Garden for World Peace and it was a great way to spend an hour. Fully recommend for anyone passing by.
