Great green area, perfect for walking the dog along the canal and picnics. There is free parking right next to the field. Also a great launching place for kayaks and paddle boards, though be wary of the Canadian geese and swans. They are a flock of about 20 and can be loud and a bit aggressive. They also cause a lot of droppings, so best bring a picnic blanket if you want to sit down on the grass, though there are a few benches. The water is beautiful and clear you can see the bottom and all the fish along. There are several fishing spots, and a duo had a small paddle boat and fished, they caught several small fish and a decent sized pike. The wild life is wonderful, lots of fish, and different birds, was luck enough to see a kingfisher too. To the left if you paddle down up stream then you go by several end of gardens with a cool bench set up and puppets. The river is quite wide only narrowing in a couple of points, but still able to pass single file. Lots of reeds on the left hand side of the river to stay away from. Continue along and you get to the ambulance station just before there is a bridge and weir you cannot cross. Not sure to the right down steam. Restrooms: Rest rooms available in sainsburys Dog-friendliness: All dogs welcome! On the lead preferably. Picnic area: Good area, would advise bringing blanket to avoid bird droppings.
Very nice area to take a walk or let your dog play. Lots of ducks and other animals around to have something to look at. Absolutely love taking the family here for a little outdoors time!
Beautiful place with lots of space for kids to run around and there is always duck, geese and swans to feed. Nice walk along the river lark as well with benches for part of the walk. Not much else except a basketball court and an outdoor weight lifting area.
One of the most breathtaking short walk in Mildenhall. Many Swans not shy at all, scores of birds, ducks and even snakes swimming accors river. Owners of houses kept they gardens pristine making atmosphere even more serene. Dog owners responsible cleaning area of any rubbish.
It was very nice. Lovely locals. We saw swans up close. Finding the parking lot on Google maps was a challenge. The weather isn't harsh. Overall a nice time.
Big grass area & nice river with fishermen, ducks, geese, swans etc. Good place to walk the dog.
I live going there to feed ducks and swans and also let my little one play on the green area.
Great park for doing sport or going for a long walk. Very clean/tidy and the path/fields are well kept. Dog friendly. Path along side the river ideal for young children and walking with a buggy. Remember to take some bread, as the river is alive with swans and ducks. Good playground towards the back of the carpark/football ground.
It's a fairly nice field. At the time I visited there were loads of parking spaces available Saturday morning so thumbs up for that. If its been raining the grass around the bank near the entrance from the car park gets really soggy n boggy. So take care if it's been raining! It's a good size field with a path along the river, loads of benches and bins along the way too.
Town council need to enforce fishing licences and clean the place up to many people drinking and smoking dope due to influx of outsiders into our town
