The food as usual was fantastic. Piping hot value for money . Staff very helpful as my son gluten intolerant and looked after him as well. All the staff were busy and cheerful. I would recommend Joel's for any occasions you may have . Long time customer going there since the early day 30 yrs now . Keep up the good work
Food and service is consistently good, it has been main reason for return Cocktail experience pre-pandemic and last visit: worst cocktails I have ever had. Piña colada wasn’t even sweet nor did feel any alcohol in it, felt like €10 lemonade. Ordered beer and gave that lemonade to my wife - definitely need to step up cocktail quality. Place looks like refurbishment is long overdue: dirty carpet, cracked seat fabrics, air con need to be cleaned. You can see these things from afar.
Still as always the best. We were for warned there could be a wait for food but there wasn't. Fab food. Fab drinks.Food: 5/5
Amazing food, great staff, got doggie bags the portions are so huge, might of got a takeaway cheese cake too I've gone to Joel's for many yrs now and have never gotten a bad meal
Love Joel’s so much. I was there Saturday evening at about 6.30. You can’t book it on weekends unless there is a big party but the wait was not long.we had a drink at the bar and got called for our table within 30mins. We both got the battered mushrooms with garlic dip to start and the portion size was very generous. For the main I got the sea bass with prawns and sautéed potatoes and my partner got the prawn dish with rice. The total cost for two starters, two mains and 4 drinks was under €90 . All the staff members we encountered were lovely and the service from Cormac was excellent. Very good value for money and look forward to my next visit there.
The atmosphere is very laid back. The restaurant is clean and they give decent portions. The nachos are great as a starter or a main. They use excellent quality beef. The sirloin steak is always a winner! There's a wide selection of desserts available. I'd recommend the profiteroles and the pavlova. As for cocktails, the Piña Coladas and Strawberry Daiquiris are nice, but they're at city centre prices. The staff are mostly all very helpful and friendly. There's plenty of free parking available. After Covid, they greatly reduced the menu - the limited menu remains in place in April 2023. The Lasagne was removed, which is a real pity as it was their best dish. I'll restore the 5-star rating if they bring back the lasagne assuming it meets the same high quality standards.
Honestly one of the best places to get food. I do have to say though I was extremely disappointed by the surf and turf. Fillet was amazing but 4 little over cooked prawns was a massive let down on the surf end. Everything else was amazing and staff are as great as ever. Consistently a great place for food
Place was busy for Tuesday night but we weren't waiting too long for a seat. The staff were lovely and friendly. We had a starter which was nice. The main not so good turkey and ham was dried up like it was sitting under a lamp and Hake was similar. Desert was excellent but we wouldn't be in a rush to go back
What a great place to eat out. The atmosphere is excellent, the surroundings are comfortable and all of the staff are very engaging. The food is excellent, delivered quickly and presented well. We got in for an early evening meal around 5.50pm, just before the rush started around 6.30pm. It is highly recommended.Food: 5/5
