I had the unfortunate experience of visiting this Job Centre as I was passing to ask a question this morning only to walk straight back out after a staff member who is called ”Chris” was very aggressive with a claimant in front of the office. Not only was this embarrassing for the claimant but I found the whole situation threatening that I had to leave before I spoke to anyone. Other people in the office saw this too and the manager removed the aggressive staff member. This is an absolute disgrace that DWP and the Job Centre employ people who are evidently not suited to the role. I can also say that the claimant was calm and measured in his response to the situation. This will be reported to the DWP also.
If I walked into an interview and addressed a potential employer with “awright mate”, I reckon I wouldn’t get very far. At least pretend that you offer a professional service and you treat people with respect .
