I had a great experience at Jenny Packham in London shopping for my wedding dress. Eugenia was great, kind and very patient with me which I appreciated compared to other stores where I've found the staff to be too pushy. I can't wait to return for my fitting. Highly recommend!
Today i went Jenny Packham London store for my wedding dress. I was supported by Melaine. She was very professional,kind and patient. She helped my all dress fitting and gave me truthful opinions. Overall, everything went smoothly and i finally bought my wedding dress today! I'm very excited and can't wait for my next fitting on August XX.
Unfortunately my experience wasn't good at all. Like someone else on these reviews, I was super excited to go to Jenny Packham for my wedding dress. This was the first appointment I booked as I love their designs and was hoping this was the one...however the customer service on this first appointment put me off completely. I know one shouldn't really get their expectations too high before these types of appointments, but the complete lack of effort or support during the appointment was shocking. Upon arrival, we were greeted and asked to sit down upstairs and wait. Contrary to subsequent appointments at other establishments, we weren't even offered a glass of water. When we finally started the appointment, I was asked very generic questions about the wedding but I didn't feel reassured or supported at all. The process for ordering and fittings wasn't explained and I was literally just given a few pieces of stapled paper to look at because 'the iPad we tend to use had been taken to an external appointment. Again - this is a very exciting and nervewracking moment that most girls would have imagined for many years and there is simply no care or nice touch to honour the moment. Then, once I started trying dresses on the biggest shock came. Not only did they not have any of the dresses I was interested in in the store, but the ones they did have were completely broken - holes, ripped fabrics, jammed zippers etc. My friends were waiting outside the dressing room while I was trying things on and could see all the headbands and pieces full of hairs. It's just simply not what you expect of Jenny Packham or a boutique in Mayfair. In the end, it was my friends who really helped me get the dresses fitted, moved mirrors around to make sure I could see the back of my dress etc. It's just shocking. I think I didn't even realise on the day, but the lack of support, care or mere joy for what you are doing was evident when going to other stores and comparing. It's such a shame, as I absolutely love the designs, but I would never want anyone else to have their first bridal dress experience as mine was.
If you’re a bride and hoping to get service here. Don’t even try. Worst service ever. They’ll try to hand you off to the next person and the next. They’ll get your hopes up. Such a shame because Jenny Packham is a great designer, but I was so disappointed in how I was treated by her staff. I’ve been in contact with these people for 2 months to only now be told that they don’t have the dress I want. Ridiculous. Oh and don’t forget the part of each employee telling me they haven’t been working in the store so that’s why it took a while to get back to me. Does anyone work here? lol what a joke.
As a longtime fan of Jenny Packham’s designs, getting my wedding dress here was a big moment for me. Due to the global pandemic, my wedding was pushed back by about two years and I returned this weekend to pick the dress up for my ceremony in July. I had called previously a few times and was told I could pick up anytime, no appointments needed. Unfortunately my experience at the store was fairly abysmal. The bridal assistant - Mel - had an attitude that was cold, patronising and even rude. When I told her how long ago I ordered the dress, she asked in a very surprised tone “ oh, so you’re still getting married then??”. I didn’t mind waiting while my dress was brought upstairs from the stockroom, but when it did come up, the assistant didnt really put effort into zipping me up and announced my dress didn’t fit at all because “didn’t we all eat more in lockdown”. Fortunately, a friend was over who helped me in it surprise - it did zip up but the zip was stiff. While the dress was still on my body, I was told I had an outstanding balance for half my dress and there was no record of further payment even though I recalled vividly completing the payment. For me, that was a huge unforeseen amount of cash and I panicked. After about half an hour of calls, the assistant found my second payment somewhere in the system she said was replaced since she got hired. My head was spinning, my palms were sweating and I thought I was going to cry. To top it all off, when she was packing the dress up she said that I “should’ve called and then they could’ve prepared the dress better”. I understand my circumstances were complicated, that I ordered a dress a long time before etc but this is not the level of service a high end Mayfair bridal boutique should offer. I came in willing to wait and take my time and do this right. I am not complaining about fit issues at all, just the attitude on how they were dealt with. I would’ve needed someone who tried to be helpful, not who just presented me with problems that were out of my control. Someone who understood how hard the pandemic has been on some people and not tried to make me feel worse about it. I felt sad, fat, exhausted emotionally and cried when I got home. I still get emotional writing this review. The only good thing remaining is the beautiful design that I took home, and my wish they would invest in their staff more. After getting to meet Ms Packham once in the past, having her autographed book and admiring her work since I was a teenager, I am left with a very bitter taste and slight heartbreak at the service I got. I cannot in good conscience recommend this bridal boutique to future brides. While the bridal try on appointments can be lovely and the designs great, once you pay your deposit the service is unpredictable at best.
What a perfect experience. We walked in 10 minutes before closing without an appointment, and thought we'd just get to browse and book an appointment for later. Despite being busy with a large bridal party and other clients, Melina was able to squeeze us in and get me into my dream dress almost immediately. Despite having the classic tear-filled moment when I tried on the first gown, Melina advised me to try 4-5 other dresses that were all flattering and suited my style to confirm that this was the one, then brought out some champagne to celebrate finding the perfect dress. 30 mins after entering the store, and 20 mins after closing, I walked out dress in hand, packed perfectly so it wouldn't get damaged in the heavy rain outside and without any alterations needed. After a long and stressful journey to find the right dress for my wedding, this was the perfect balance of personalised service that made me feel special, while also offering a more relaxed and speedy experience than many other boutiques. I could not be happier and could not recommend Jenny Packham and Melina more.
I had a wonderful experience bridal shopping at Jenny Packham. The dresses were beautiful as you'd expect and my stylist Jenny not THE Jenny was professional and knowlegable but at the same time very warm and down to earth which made me feel completely at ease.
I have literally had the best day of my life !!!! the girls at the store have gone above and beyond to make my experience so special xxx a huge special mention to Selen, Jenny Packham are so so so lucky to have her, she is such a beautiful caring person and just made me feel so special xx the venue is just stunning and the dresses are world class !!!! so excited to come back for my fitting xxx thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart xxx highly highly recommend love Iona x
