Jennings is an established family business selling hand made oriental rugs since 1960. Large stocks held on display at the Tewkesbury showrooms. We have experienced, knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Story

The business was started by Jack Jennings in the summer of 1960, he always had an interest in the east and used his knowledge thru travel to set up this exciting business. Clare his daughter now continues this family tradition. People are always amazed at the diversity and selection at Tewkesbury, often surprised, as it is so unusual outside London, to find so many hand Knotted pieces. The carpets are from Iran, (Persian) Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir and India. Most pieces are produced using traditional home spun vegetable dyed wool. The silk pieces we have are either from Iran or Kashmir, traditionally knotted and beautifully detailed.

We found the shop via google and discovered a couple of rugs we were interested in so decided on a road trip from Bristol to check them out. From the moment we walked into the shop we were entranced by the rugs, lamps and decorations and felt we had walked into a modern day Aladdin's Cave. Throughout the whole process we never felt pressured into a sale, the knowledge and enthusiasm of Claire and the staff shone through and showcased the marvellous rugs on display. We not only bought a rug, we bought a stunning hanging lamp with 5 beautiful shades and are thoroughly satisfied with the whole experience. I highly recommend them as a business and if you are in the market for a unique rug, then get yourself to Jennings!
It's a real pleasure every time we visit and have purchased a number of rugs which add something special to our home. And they make it a delight to deal with them. I don't normally do postings but the enjoyment and pleasure we get out of it all is worth a very strong recommendation. My wife and I visited again today and bought another two. Thank you Clare.
We spent some time at Clare and Grahams shop in Tewkesbury recently looking at rugs for our Home. This experience was invaluable. Both Graham and Clare are extremely knowledgeable about their rugs, providing valuable advice in a relaxed friendly atmosphere and answering all sorts of questions from us. We were able to take rugs to try in our home with no pressure to buy. As it happened our eventual choices were not what we had favoured in the shop. We purchased two beautiful rugs which look fab and couldn’t be more pleased. Strongly recommend Jennings Rugs , you won’t be disappointed, fantastic selection to choose from for all budgets.
We bought a beautiful Kazak rug last week from Jennings of Tewkesbury. At first we chose another which we liked very much, but it didn't go well with our furnishings. The staff were very patient and brought several for us to view in our own home in Devon.
I cannot recommend highly enough Jennings Rugs. I have just purchased, with much help from Clare, Graham and team, a beautiful hand knotted Ersari rug. The website is excellent and the photographs of the rugs are better than on other sites I have visited. Along with advice from Clare, this would be really useful for people buying online. Having said that, if you are able to travel to visit the shop, do. It is an Aladdin's cave full of beautiful works of art, in a range of prices. And the rugs when you see them in the flesh come alive...the colours seem to change, depending on the light or angle of viewing. The expertise from Clare and team is invaluable, very reassuring for a first time buyer. Many thanks...if I can find space for another, I'll be back!
Exceptional service. The advice, help and consideration shown was truly outstanding. The quality of the rugs is first class; the choice is amazing; the pricing competitive & realistic. Considering I am 200 miles from Tewkesbury, the online store combined with lots of additional information and help from Clare and Jon, make choosing and purchasing easy. I have now bought two rugs from them, in recent months and I am delighted with them. Sixty years in the business as a family concern, with a focus on exceptional service & products, makes shopping with Jennings an enriching experience. I would strongly advise talking to Jennings, as a first port of call, if looking to purchase quality rugs. Highly recommend.

Visiting the beautiful shop in Tewkesbury was an experience in itself. There were so many wonderful handmade rugs of all sizes, prices and colours to admire and choose from and they were all laid out so aesthetically. The shop owners were very helpful and friendly, striking just the right balance between letting us browse on our own and also interacting and answering our questions. They were very knowledgable about the rugs, their origins and the traditional ways in which they are made. The rugs are all true works of art. It was a delight to purchase two rugs for two different rooms: one Afghan rug and one from Pakistan. They are breathtaking, beautiful to touch and have truly enhanced our home. We are extremely satisfied with our purchases and we look forward to returning and choosing more rugs in the future. One last mention needs to go to the very friendly resident cat who greeted us at the door and then left us to shop and enjoy the experience.
My wife and I have no hesitation in recommending that anyone interested in purchasing oriental carpets should visit Jennings. This is based upon five visits, four we made by to Tewkesbury and one by Jonathan to us in response to our request for objective comment on how our choices colour co ordinated with our furniture. The conclusion was our purchase of five carpets and collecting a family heirloom transformed after Jennings undertook a much needed cleaning and eighty year service. We very much appreciated the relaxed and personable way in which Graham and Jonathan discussed our requirements, tactfully guiding us and sharing their knowledge. The decision making process was thoroughly enjoyable, looking at 'possibles' from their impressive stocks and then viewing 'probables' at home. Many other retail businesses could learn a great deal from Jennings Rugs. It is not surprising to see the positive reviews from other customers which confirm that they too rate highly their shopping experience.
