Great gym but the air con could be a lot stronger, it’s very warm especially in the ladies area and you only feel the air con if you stand directly under the unit and also we need a cold shower in the ladies changing so that when we exit the sauna we can have cool shower instead of hot! The men’s changing room have a cold shower so it’s only fair us ladies do too! Also noticed the changing rooms aren’t very clean could do with a mop and wipe down most days.
Great gym with everything you need—solid equipment, plenty of space, and a good atmosphere. I use this gym both for my own training and to train clients, and it's been a fantastic environment for strength, fat loss, and functional fitness work. If you're someone looking for a bit of guidance or feel like you're stuck in a rut with your training, I’m around most mornings and evenings and always happy to chat. You’ll usually find me coaching or lifting near the racks. Don't be a stranger.
Very very dirty changing rooms - tissue paper everywhere, floors wet.nThe gym floor itself is well maintained.nAvoid the toilets/changing rooms altogether - shame really as it does have a sauna which I would like to use but after seeing the lack of cleanliness in the changing rooms absolutely no way I'm chancing it.nnI used JD gym down in Coventry - which was really well maintained, so shame really the same can't be said for the Rochdale branch.
Had my first visit back at this gym this morning after trying out a few other local gyms and absolutely nothing compares.nI felt like I was a kid in a toy shop again. There's equipment and attachments to target any muscle you can think of.nThe gym itself is massive and spans across 2 floors. It holds a machine section, free weight section, cardio area full of stair masters, treadmills, ellipticals and a couple of ski ergs, there is a rig, a mat area which is great for doing warmups, stretches or yoga, there's also a huge studio which hosts classes and a dedicated spin section. For women that don't like to be out on the main floor of the gym there is even a small women's section with a good selection of equipment.nThe equipment here is well kept, the gym is clean and the members/staff are just as lovely and informative as ever when you need someone's help.
This gym overall is pretty good for the price you pay and they have some really good and knowledgeable personal trainers. I recently did a session with coach Mariusz and he is great at explaining things including correct form and strength/muscular imbalances so if you struggle with anything like that or are just looking for a good personal trainer who you can have a good chat with aswell as train hard then you should definitely try doing a session with him. He also offers a free first session
