No real service. Ordered coffee and they shouted out the order was ready and left it where the sugars etc were. I was less than 5 feet away but they couldn’t be bothered fk bring it to the table. Toilet dirty and broken seat… doesn’t flush. Coffee was burnt. Tables dirty. Freezing too.
Haven't been here in a while. Used to come alot when first opened where drinks were nice and staff attentive. I was very dissapointed. Coffee didn't traste great like it was burnt so couldn't drink it as it wasn't nice. The food too was burnt around the edges. Everything here feels like its done in a rush with the barrista constantly shouting orders or banging and crashing behind the counter even though it wasn't busy enough to warrant that stressy manic approach. Think it was the owner when first opened.where would even bring drinks over and the place had a relaxed calm vibe and no burnt coffee. They seem very angry not a great vibe at all. Guess they are going for efficiency over customer care like a cheap fast food chain. Shame.
Super nice little cafe with great coffee and incredible customer service! Very nice, friendly staff. Often full due to location. Also serves breakfast all dayFood: 5/5
My favourite coffee shop. Been going here since it opened. Best coffeeFood: 5/5
If there was an option for zero stars I would have given that. 1 star seems generous. My 70 year old mother visited the Blythe Valley location today, and what she told me has left me shocked and appalled. After ordering a wrap, a cake a bottle of water and a large latte she politely asked the server if he would be so kind to simply carry the coffee outside for her as she was holding everything else and didn't have a spare hand free. A simple request one would think. Not at Java...even though there was no one else in the que at this point. The server refused point blank to help stating they don't offer table service. To me they clearly dont offer customer service either, as the small request would have taken only a matter of moments to complete but the server couldn't care less and repeatedly refused to offer the smallest gesture of kindness. I can tell you now she will not be returning to this establishment and would rather go to the Costa machine at the co op as she will most likely get better service from a machine than this server.
Edit: We have returned to Java Lounge Blythe Valley park today and I must say we have thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My coffee was beautifully made and delicious and the children loved their milkshakes. The bearded cheerful chap that made the drinks was attentive and we felt well looked after. We will be returning in future. Thank you. Original review: We have driven past it so many times on our way to and back from VA, so anticipation was building up. We finally stopped off for the first time at Blythe Valley Java Lounge to have a drink on 24/11/18 at around 4pm. First impression was great - decor is lovely, it was clean and welcoming. My children have chosen 2 milkshakes and I went for caramel nutty latte or something along those lines, can’t remember exact name. Kids loved their shakes, but my latte was sickening sweet, there must have been a third of a cup or more syrup there. I could not drink it. I raised the issue at the till with a person who made the drink but he said that’s just how it is, it’s caramel after all. I have had caramel lattes from most other established coffee chains including one that is a fast food and never had to leave the drink barely touched. To sum it up, even though my children loved their drinks, we will not be returning as I left very disappointed.
Why is this place not open on weekends. So many people live here now and definitely it is space to make the profit on Saturday and Sunday.
It’s so unusual to find a coffee shop that understands the meaning of ‘background music’. It was a delight to visit again this week and not be hammered with loud music when trying to have a conversation with my friend. The music was actually in the background and of the variety appropriate for daytime - no screeching female pop singers here, my friend. Incredibly friendly staff, terrific coffee, warm and comfortable environment. Without a doubt, the best coffee venue for miles around. Please don’t change a thing.
Great location for a coffee when cycling through Blythe Valley. Friendly staff. Wheelchair accessibility: All on one level.
It's one of the best coffee shops in Birmingham...Food: 5/5
