We visited Manchester with our young sushi loving family and had looked at the various options for Japanese cuisine in the City. I was drawn to Samsi because of the menu, reviews and authenticity. We arrived and were quickly seated. The restaurant was large and spacious and we felt that we had plenty of room. It certainly isn’t new and shows its age in areas like the restrooms, but that didn’t detract from the experience. We ordered a 40 piece selection, dragon roll, teriyaki salmon, pak Choi, veg and prawn tempura, Karaage and all sparking water. The food was beautifully presented, very fresh, plentiful and made with pride. If you enjoy this cuisine do give them a try. It was very good.
My first visit here, and it won't be the last. The chicken gyoza were crispy, tasty and piping hot, the katsudon a dish I have wanted to try for years! was everything I'd hoped it would be and the toffee apple desert was the perfect palette cleanser afterwards. Add in a couple of ice-cold Asahi to drink and this whole meal was just perfect. The staff are friendly and efficient and were happy to explain things to me as a first-time visitor. I highly recommend Samsi.
Staff friendly and helpful as soon as you enter restaurant is very clean and tidy nice atmosphere plenty of seating even has a bit for authentic eating food is really good and tasty would come here again when back in ManchesterFood: 5/5
We celebrated my sons 30th birthday and it couldn't of gone any better. Staff are amazing friendly polite and kind. The food was absolutely delicious, we were all extremely happy. I would definitely recommend.Food: 5/5
Food was 95% perfect being the seaweed salad having a very peculiar chlorine taste. The atmosphere only held 4 stars as the entire place smelt of bleach. I get it. Its clean throughout but the smell is not pleasant throughout the entire eatery and the entire time. The rest of the food could almost be outweighed and the service impeccable to say the least as the servers were all attentive, quick and meticulous. Would still definitely go again in future.
Great selection of sushi and other dishes, some were on our taste some not. But it's fine, we still liked the place and will come back. Service was excellent, all waiters were very nice and accommodating. Loved the decor aswell.Food: 4/5
"An Authentic Culinary Haven! I've been a loyal patron of this Japanese gem for years, and with every visit, my appreciation for its culinary excellence only deepens. From the moment you step through the doors, you're greeted with the warmest hospitality, instantly whisked away to the heart of Japan. The menu is a masterpiece, boasting an array of traditional dishes expertly crafted with the finest ingredients. Whether you're indulging in the delicate flavors of sushi and sashimi, savoring the rich complexity of ramen, or delighting in the artistry of the Teriyaki Don a personal favourite you're bound to find something you love. But it's not just about the food; it's the entire dining experience. The ambiance is serene yet vibrant, creating the perfect backdrop for intimate dinners or lively gatherings. The attentive staff adds to the charm, ensuring every need is met with grace and efficiency. It's a calm spot in the heart of the city. In a city bustling with dining options, this restaurant stands out as a beacon of excellence. Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur of Japanese cuisine or a newcomer eager to explore its wonders, this is the place to be. Thank you for consistently exceeding expectations and being there to be our go to favourite restaurant, year after year! Parking: There's an NCP very near. In fact I think it's serviced by five near bye carparks.
Converted warehouse style restaurant serves extensive range of classic Japanese dishes with enthusiastic, friendly service. One of the best meals I've had in Manchester, and great valueFood: 5/5
A pretty decent food experience, not the most faithful of Japanese food but it was tasty never the less, somethings on the menu that were a big surprise, a welcome one. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, every interaction was met with smiles and as much help as could be provided. The service was fast but it didn't impact the quality of the food, portion size Vs price was a little off, you are paying extra for it being Japanese food and the rolls themselves look small for the amount paid, this doesn't take away from the fact that it was tasty though. If you haven't had any or had very little Japanese food, this place is ideal as it's a good entry point.
I've been coming here since 2017 before visiting Japan. I wanted to experience Japanese food before visiting the country. We did some research and found this restaurant in Manchester about 35 miles away from us. I just can't say enough about the staff. Ever since our first visit they've been so kind and friendly. Were on first name terms and they often ask how we're doing when we post on Facebook. The service is the best I've enjoyed in Manchester. The food is authentic to the Japanese recipe and having visited Tokyo, the Tonkotsu Pork Ramen always makes me think of Japan. It tastes exactly as it should and authentic. The quality of the food is incredibly high as if the standard of the restaurant in general. I've never had a complaint in six years and I've have so many good memories. My little boy loves every visit and he's made friends with so many people here. I don't often eat out, especially with the cost of living going up. But when I can, I'll happy make the trip to come back, no questions asked. Especially when it's your birthday and they remembered and surprise you with a nice iced cream! Vegetarian options: Japanese cuisine is very vegetarian friendly in general but there's plenty of options on the menu. Even for pescetarians. Dietary restrictions: Lots of options but if you tell the staff of any requirements they always accommodate. Kid-friendliness: Always brought my son since he was young. The staff always play with him and say hello when he's here and the child menu offers great value for money.
