I've just purchased my 2nd car with James Ball. I returned as I knew I was guaranteed not only a reliable and professional service but a reliable and trustworthy vehicle. Everything from first contact through to driving away my new car was seamless. James was also happy to buy my car back at a price match I was happy with. This meant a complete hassle free transaction. A beautiful bouquet of flowers sealed the deal as I drove away. Thank you James...no doubt you'll see me again.
I cannot rate this company highly enough. An excellent service, polite and efficient, I found a pristine Jimny with many, many extras at the same price as many in my area that were basic and unexciting. I had a 2 1/2 hour train journey to the Bristol area but James collected me from the railway station and took me to meet my new vehicle which I had bought entirely via the internet and by telephone. For a second hand car I was totally surprised by its immaculate condition. This little car has proved to be perfect for my needs, whizzing me up to Hereford for the eve and and then back home to Hampshire and has since been 'stolen' on many a day since as my husband can fit his golf clubs and trolley in it far easier than in his sports car . Even the dogs gave their approval! The Jimny was in such perfect condition, the service given was 100% in all ways, and I cannot be more thrilled that I found both the car and the company James Ball Cars Ltd. Christine Mayhew

Recently bought an Audi A4 from James Ball Cars. James was incredibly professional, helpful and not pushy. We turned up at the end of the day for an unscheduled test drive and he rearranged his show room at the last minute to accommodate us. The car was prepared and serviced quickly, and he even gave us a bunch of flowers when we drove the car away. Finally, we had a small fault with the car after sale and he was very helpful in getting it fixed at no charge. So, great before and after sale service. I hope to buy my next car from James Ball Cars.
Recently purchased a car from James, he has been a refreshing pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Car was presented in immaculate condition and I'm extremely fussy. The communication with James was punctual and informative, there was no hard sell. The attention to detail provided by James during collection was superb and the handover bay was added bonus, to already impressive showroom. After sales service from James as been brilliant, when small issue occurred with my car which he dealt with no questions asked. I would recommend any prospective customer to visit James Balls Cars. The other cars he had in stock all looked in fabulous condition, a welcome change from other garages I've visited over the years and wasted trips and pushy sales executives, with no real knowledge of cars they are selling.

Recently bought a Mercedes C350e from James. Great service, very responsive before and after I bought the car. A couple of minor issues that would only come to light after owning the vehicle for a week or so and James was more than happy to help out. Ultimately it was all covered by Mercedes warranty but James was very helpful and professional throughout. I would highly recommend.
Recently bought a Bentley GT Continental- James is highly knowledgeable, the car was exactly and he said and superb. Had previously researched extensively and got a fair price and good trade in for my car at JBcars. After two months the car needed a small adjustment and it was completed fast, no hassle or cost. So good service too! Recommended.
Earlyish days with a Jaguar I bought recently from James. It looks beautiful. What has really impressed me is the very open and friendly discourse throughout. Importantly, when I picked the car up socially distanced of course!, the Sat Nav was linked to Belgium. James thought it had been reset for GDPR purposes. Also I found our later one key was damaged. I reported this to James and he immediately invited me to take it to my local dealer and he has met the ensuing costs at once and without demur. In fact it needed a new antenna and the bill with diagnosis and labour was not small. This is first-class service. If you buy an 8 year old car then it's always a bit of a gamble but the car generally seems as genuine as the seller! Recommended on the basis of this experience.
BUYER BEWARE! DA64 DXY aka 787 GMD. Bentley Flying Spur £49,995 - Incomplete service history Dealer falsely advertising as Full Main Dealer History. 1. Contacted through Autotrader. 2. Went back & forth via text/James made a low ball offer for my car in part ex. 3. Claimed that was the book price & then increased it. 4. Book price for his Flying Spur is £35k. 5. Claimed he was inundated with calls for car failed to sell. 6. Offered derisory 2% off price. 7. Claimed & advertised the car had full Bentley Dealer Service History. 8. Upon inspection only 3 service stamps instead of 6 car should be serviced annually. Car is 6 years old, should be 6 stamps. 9. Upon further inspection Car not serviced for 2-3 yrs 2018 - Dec end 2020. 10. Upon further inspection car had number plate change. James claimed he was unaware. 11. Then we find out no current service or MOT! 12. Then James wanted us to pay £500 deposit before we viewed car. 13. Then James services car locally outside of main dealer network. 14. Then finally gets MOT & remedial works are needed incl 2 new tyres. 15. Then we find out that the mileage in service book for the 3 services is different from what Bentley have on their computer system. 16. When I asked him to check the 5th service empty page in service book he no longer wish to sell the car to us! Very Suspicious. * These are high performance vehicles that require MAIN dealer services. * If you are selling 2nd car that is 7 years old, you should ensure it has current MOT & Service. Our MOT cost £50 no works needed. * If selling 2nd hand car for £50k you should have receipts for works done. * If you are a dealer selling a car, you should know its history, especially a number plate change! BUYER BEWARE! *********UPDATE********* Our response to the owners response is: 1. These are not accusations, but facts based on our experiences with you. 2. You advertised the car as Full Bentley Main Dealer History - This is untrue. We have a copy of original ad. Also we would never buy a 2nd hand Bentley without FBSH. 3. You claim we agreed to buy the car - Also untrue. Who buys £50k 2nd hand car without seeing or test driving it? We would not even give you a £500 deposit. We were interested & carried out our due diligence, which led to questions that you were unable to answer. 4. Why would you need to "spend a week running around in circles" getting the car ready, if the car was already in showroom condition to sale? The fact is, there'd been no service for 2 years & no current MOT. You then quickly serviced the car outside of Bentley network cheaper & did MOT that highlighted 2 tyres were worn. 4. If you were inundated with calls from people wishing to buy the car, why is it still for sale months later? 5. Bentleys are meant to be serviced annually - 6yr old car 7yrs now should have 6 stamps - why is there only 3? 6. Why did you not address the 2yr interval between services? 7. Why did you not address the fact that mileage in your service book is different from Bentleys service department? 8. Why did you not address the fact that number plates had been changed? 9. Regarding the book price - see below. Even allowing for some variations - you are still £10k over priced. Anyone can check this online by putting in the car reg DA64 DXY. Your PARKERS valuation for: Bentley Flying Spur 4.0 V8 4d Auto 2014/64 Private Price £30,960 - £34,970 Dealer Price £37,140 - £38,005 Your response to our experiences is a smokescreen & did not address the salient points, because you know they are true. Again, this is not personal, neither are they accusations. Our comments based on our experiences. Maybe you would reflect on the fact that you did not know the car as well as you ought to have? No Mot; incomplete service history; number plate change; 2 new tyres needed; service needed; mileage discrepancy between service book & Bentley dealer computer system. Re: claimed 100% 5 star reviews we note many of those reviewers have only made 1 review, yours!
