*Update post owners response* Facts are: - Painting dropped off 02/09 - we were told 'I have no time now, I will do it in October' - We rang on 28/10 for an update since this whole time there was no news - we were told 'Haven't started it mate, couple of weeks'. - 2 weeks later 11/11 we collect our painting untouched. You never mentioned your health issues. You never gave any excuse or reason why you had not done it. And as I said, you never said sorry over the phone or in person. There is no need to make your whole reply about 'how angry you were' to distract from your failures. I wish you well and to get better, but I stand by my review. After reading the reviews we hesitated to use their service, but were drawn in by cheap price tag. Left our painting to be stretched and framed - 2.5months later had to collect it back undone! Upon collecting noticed some cracks on canvas/paint, have not noticed them before on my painting so likely happened while painting was sitting in a pile with others in their unorganised store. Very disapointed to learn that the reviews were all true and we should have not gone there. Customer service non-existent - lady did not bother to say a single 'sorry'
I have used Jackson’s a number of times and can’t recommend them highly enough. The value is excellent for the kind of quality and attention to detail that goes into the framing - the prices are very good in comparison to other framers of this quality in London. It’s a small operation and the work does take time especially when they have a lot of orders which they make clear when taking work on, however I like the personal service they give and am willing to be patient - it seems perhaps some of the critical reviewers don’t seem to appreciate the size and type of place this is and are looking for a more commercial service with a fast turnaround. I hope people won’t be put off by some of the negative reviews as it really is a great place and a hidden gem.
Picked up my framing today, absolutely beautiful craftsmanship, the frames and mounts show off the work perfectly. I was pretty clueless as to what I wanted, but such care was given during the consultation. The lady advised me, she was very friendly and extremely helpful. I've been here before, and no doubt will come again in the future. They know their stuff here and the quality is exceptional. Thoroughly recommend!
Best in the area by a long way. Have used many times. Professional and efficient. Can frame to high quality gallery standard. People expecting a chatty high street shop selling simple frames need to avoid see some idiot comments below!. This is a business like professional quality frame supplier.
Awful service and I didn’t even need to get to the place. Pretentious, unfriendly, unprofessional. I called to ask for an estimate for framing a piece of art I purchased. I barely finished my sentence she went saying “give me your email and I’ll send it to you”. Never did. Obviously I knew it was not going to happen, which made me go to a professional framer in Wanstead High Street Images in Frames. It cost me just over £400 and very worth it for the costumer service provided as well. RE: About my review, I made it clear it was about your costumer service not your shop decor, and about your costumer service yes you just confirmed how pretentious you are through your reply, thank you. Again you did not bother to explain what you were going to do, how long it was going to take or if I had any other questions. As a costumer I could not guess how the processing works for your company in particular and you were not really bothered to point it out, therefore if it were not for this Google review I could also add dismissive. And in response to your last line, “oui”. Going through a few of the many negative reviews on here, if I were you I would try to improve service not justify a bad one. Success.
Claire and the team are fantastic. Anyone who actually uses a framing service regularly would know this - a lot of the disparaging remarks on here are quite strange, and I think say more about the reviewer rather than Jackson Framing. They certainly don't reflect my experience. I've only used them a couple of times - once a few years ago when they helped me out with a terrible frame I bought from Habitat when I was in a pre-christmas frenzy, and once at the end of last year when I took loads of different prints and photos I've been hoarding for ages. Claire took time to look at each piece with me and together we made some decisions on mounts, different glass and bespoke frames with a variety of finishes. The time for completion was estimated at 2 weeks but she did explain that they were framing a couple of exhibitions and that may stretch a little. I wasn't in a rush, so that suited me fine. They were ready within 2 weeks. I couldn't be happier with the results. I've used a number of different framing services in the past and I can happily say that I won't need to go anywhere else again. Not only are the frames great, they were considerably cheaper than a lot of the 'high-end' framers out there.
Since the first time that Claire framed my work, a few years ago now, I go to her for everything. The frames are always of excellent quality and more importantly she understands art and exhibiting and she can give good advice on what is possible and the best solution for my framing requirements. Very helpful service. Also, the best value framer I've found. All the artists that I know, once they've been to Jackson's, won't go anywhere else. They are reliable, affordable and the frames are always of professional quality.
