Fantastic little hiding spot! Dog friendly all year round! Took some finding as we ended up at Barry Island yacht Club and we could see the beach but it was through a locked gate! Soooo annoying! We back tracked to Barry Island pay and display car park and there was a pathway at the back of the car park that went around the cliff and straight to the beach, the pathway is well maintained and wide. The beach itself was worth it! Only issue was the female toilets were closed so had to use the men's! Awkward!
Amazing little beach stashed away, toilets there, use the yacht club if its open for food and drink. Only downfall is the parking, only limited 2 hour bays on Redbrink Cresent. Can walk around from Barry Island though aswell.
Nice beach but the water can be a bit green when the tide is out. Good place to take the dog though and it does have some beautiful scenery.
Beautiful little beach! Perfect for swimmers. Dogs allowed too. In the mornings you only get a tiny slither of sand, just enough though to park your things before swimming. Later in the day however when the tide is out the beach is huge more than enough room for all the little ones to run around and play. It can get quite packed. Handy toilets and shower at the entrance also. Perfect!
Jacksons Bay is a hidden gem located about half a mile from the hustle and bustle of Barry Island. There is a wide coastal clifftop walk or parking is available near the entrance road to the beach CF62 5QS. The path down to the beach is a little uneven and steep, but is worth it. The bay is spectacular with golden sand, some large rock formations and great views. The beach is very clean and flat, and is an ideal location for a picnic, relaxation or beach games. This is a great location for families wanting a cheap day out, because there are no arcades, cafes, beach shops or ice-cream parlours. I.e. bring everything you need including food, drinks, suncream, beach toys etc. However there are toilets and food and drinks are available at the yacht club not sure of the opening times. Other attractions nearby include Sully Tortoise Sanctuary open every Sunday between 10 & 12, May to September for season membership holders only, Barry Island, Friar's Point, Porthkerry Country Park, Fonmon Castle, the Knap, Barry Town Centre and the docks.
Small but very peaceful beach ! I really enjoyed today's trip and I will definitely come back soon !
Great little beach and a bit more tucked away if its windy, its a steeper beach than barry is so its goes deeper quicker. There are toilets just off the beach and very clean and modern inside
It is a fairly steep narrow access path but everyone is friendly and accommodating of our trolly and of course it is dog friendly. The dogs we encountered were all well behaved and socialised. Good Bay in which to Sup paddle board. It is tidal so the sand and silt hangs in the water so unfortunately not clear water.
Very quiet and sandy beach. Nicely sheltered for SUP but a bit too choppy for me to stand up today. Limited parking near by and a short walk down the path. Toilet facilities in summer months and surprised to see lifeguard cover today.
Brilliant beach with plenty of room for the dog to run around.
