Nice ambience and the staff is pretty prompt and friendly. The seats could do with some refurbishment. I didnt like the food much. I'd go back for the desserts though. Starters- 1 JPs hot and spicy chicken wings: I have definitely tasted better and very expensive €13.95 for the quantity given. Also, there was something wrong with the blue cheese dip. It just tasted..wrong. 2 Seafood Chowder: This was amazing . Very tasty! Main course: 1 Beef and guiness pie: nothing in the dish stood out. Not much flavour. 2 Molly Malone seafood pasta: The pasta was not cooked well enough and the muscles were not cleaned well. I found small stones in mine! Desserts: 1 Guiness chocolate mousse: This was very rich but I really really liked it. 2 Traditional bread and butter pudding: Tried this with icecream and it was amazzzzing.
Always a pleasure to bring my guests on the Secret Dublin Food Tour to this spot. Great Traditional Irish Food We also stop here for some education, history and tasting of Irish Whiskey Staff are TOPS!!!
J.P. Mooney's is a really nice bar with live music almost every day in the week. They have a wide range of beers on tap and serve good food. This is the kind of place you can hang out and talk with friends all night.
Great place to have a pint or two and a shot of Irish whiskey recommenced by Darren! We enjoyed the food and a cozy corner to play cards and enjoy the locals. Thanks for making us feel at home!!
