About

J+A Cafe

Story

Tucked away in a courtyard between Clerkenwell Road and Great Sutton Street, we are on the ground floor & first floor of a beautiful old diamond-cutting factory.

Our café is inspired by traditional family values and good old-fashioned hospitality. In our family, the kitchen is at the heart of the home: there is always fresh-baked soda bread, a big pot of tea and a cake on the table. We have tried to recreate that feeling of homeliness wherever we can.

At J+A, we believe in healthy and wholesome Irish home-cooking and baking, using simple recipes and fresh produce. From the bread and butter to our smoked salmon, all produce has been meticulously selected - from local sources wherever possible. We love comfort food more than anything else, so whether you join us for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, you can be sure that our menu will have you licking your lips and dreaming of home.

Lovely hidden cafe with a little courtyard. The Irish breakfast was lovely and was my first time trying soda bread! Would definitely go again.
Best soda bread in London, and paired with the soup of the day it is perfect for the cold season for a lunch stop.
Amazing breakfast! Lush smoothies. Brilliant service! Highly recommend. Has outdoor seating as well.
One of the best coffees I've had in London. Great little spot through an alleyway. Would love to try a meal here one day.
Small of portion of cold scrambled eggs on soggy toast with smoked salmon costing over £13 and far too much salt. Moderate coffee also only just warm. Much lower cost and better quality at other local cafes. Service pleasant. Don't sit at the table by the door on a cold day.
The staff was friendly and the location perfect. However, our chicken sandwiches were not tasty. Maybe we should have ordered something else. We had to pay over 20 pounds for the sandwiches on the photo, tap water and tea. In my opinion the quality of the food is not worth this much money.
Really nice, delicious quiche. Too bad that we didn't have the chance to lunch on their terrasse/court due to bad weather
Have been here many times and always had a great experience. Even hosted my daughter’s birthday party here. Went down a hit with the guests - wonderful, fresh food and great ales. Has a great area to host a party at a reasonable price. Staff are very helpful. Only thing needed is a changing table for the little ones.
