Audrey and Jack were incredibly gracious hosts and Rex the dog was lovely too. The place is well appointed, clean and tidy with a beautifully kept front garden and nice views out the back past the chickens. There’s a great selection for breakfast and the couple are very accommodating if you have any particular requests. Will no doubt stay again when we’re back down that way.

The kindest most personable owners you would ever want to meet. Room and grounds absolutely lovely, breakfast that my returning British husband swooned over! Do not miss this place. Book now!! 😁

If you are travelling in East Sussex, particularly in Heathfield or close proximity and are looking for a B&B for one or several nights, you won’t get better than the Iwood B&B on Mutton Hall Lane. The idyllic B&B is tucked away in a little corner of Heathfield, and is just as pretty as the photos depict. The hosts, Audrey & Jack think nothing of going out of their way to make you feel so entirely welcome that you feel quite at home. We arrived in Heathfield earlier than scheduled and even tho’ our room was ready, Audrey made us a pot of tea complete with a tray of biscuits. As busy as she was, she sat with us a while and chatted. The rooms are clean and comfortable, each sporting a tiny fridge, a (clean) kettle for hot chocolate or coffee & tea - with a tiny bar of chocolate for each guest every day. We never had to ask for fresh linen and towels. Our stay was only 5 nights, but the sheets and towels were changed every second day. Large bath sheets were the norm - not the small hand towels that you regularly find in other B&Bs. The breakfasts were cooked to perfection and the coffee was brilliant - not instant as you seem to find every where in Britain, even at Gatwick Airport. Breakfast ranged from a full English to freshly baked croissants, even kippers were on the menu. Fresh fruit and cereals were also available. There is also a small fridge in the dining room that travellers can use for their own personal items, such as Devon cream for your coffee. In order to catch a flight back to Canada, we had to leave the Iwood around 6:00 in the morning - Audrey offered to make us toast and coffee before we left but we declined. A warm hug from the owners sent us on our way. The Iwood is certainly one of the best in the south of England; highly recommended. On a scale of 1-10, we’d rate it a 12!

Great welcome. We really enjoyed our stay. Will be back that's for sure...loved our room and the garden is beautiful. 10 our of 10.
