We stayed in the double decker bus for the week and absolutely loved it! It has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable week away. The campsite owner, Sam, was always on hand for anything we needed him for. We will definitely be back later in the summer!Rooms: 5/5
Excellent stay at this site. Staff were very friendly and pitched were large and well spaced out. We had the hot tub one day and that was a fun addition to our stay. Be aware that booking online can be a bit confusing in terms of adding extra tents etc on accurately but it was no drama to get it sorted on arrival. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely location. Campsite was very tidy. Free shower facilities which were spotlessly clean and very competitive price. I came with The Manchester and District Landrover Club group on just a 1 night stay but will be coming back for longer with family next time A+
Has good local amenities, the chippy is excellent . The site would be better if it had more showers & a decent toilet block for men, the old west style loos are cramped, & weren't cleaned the whole 3 days we were there. & The water ran out a lot in both facilities, often. A unique campsite in need of better execution for the price they charge.
Went campervanning here with my grandson. A very hip place! Owner very helpful, firepit well worth the money, all facilities clean and warm shower blocks too. I'm sure we'll be back! Dog-friendliness: Took the dog, great dogwalking straight from the site.
4 day break at the campsite last week. Surroundings are beautiful and we did enjoy our time there but would not visit again as an extremely quiet little village with just 1 pub, a butchers and small grocery shop. We usually prefer to use bus services and leave the M/H on the campsite but struggled as the main bus service not great at all and very very limited times. On day 3 we were told by the grocery shop owner about yorbus which was a fantastic app service where you can book a ride. It is a very cheap service as well although the last ride finishes at 6pm. It will be worth checking before booking this site if yorbus is still running as the service is still under trial. Re the campsite itself: Quite disappointed to find that we were charged £12 for our 2nd dog 1st one free and then £3 a day for the 2nd . Not sure what this charge was for really as dogs had to very strictly be kept on the leads at all times fair enough but no provision for a dog run / exercise area at all : I am more than happy to pay for the dogs if a facility for them but not if there isn't ! Toilets and showers def need revamping also as we're very tired looking and def not as clean as they should have been and this let the site down : updating and were certainly not as clean as they should be A little disappointed Would we go again probably not. This is mainly due to the fact that as we were in our motorhome we did not have use of a car We had a nice stay but a few issues and sadly would not stay again
A friendly welcome, a simple but well-kept site, and quiet after 10pm, as insisted upon by the management. I don't think I've ever had such a quiet night's sleep camping. Noisy parties who refuse to comply, will be helped off site by tractor if necessary The pitches were on level to gently sloping grass. The ground soft and fairly smooth, if you're in a tent. 4 mins walk from the village, with a proper pub serving simple food done well, and excellent ales. The facilities were basic and rustic, but quite serviceable. We visited over a bank holiday, and whilst the site was busy it wasn't overly packed like many sites. However, there were queues for the washrooms. There were two family washrooms, with shower, loo, and basin. Two additional showers. And 7 or 8 additional ladies & gents loos wooden latrine huts. The ladies had additional basins, but the gents didn't, so it was quite limited if you wanted a wash/shave/tooth brush. One wash-up, plus a further kitchenette with kettle, microwave, fridge and sink. If this site was £5/night/person, I'd give it full marks. However, at £15, I don't think it was good enough for my Yorkshireman's money.
What a fantastic site ... a perfect little gem in a perfect area ... Sam and staff couldn't have been any more helpful or friendly... toilets and showers immaculate at all times .. Well drained and immaculately kept pitches with views to die for. Worth staying up late to stargaze and get up early to see the sunrise .. We will be back soon Thanks
Very rustic, but clean, basic toilet and shower block facilities. Water for showers very hot. There is somewhere to empty cassettes but not grey water. Great for camping though.
Lovely quirky quiet site. Nice dog walks, handy for village chip shop which was fab. Toilets clean and plenty of hot water for showers. Would definitely stay again
