Converted town house into a dental practice with a lot of character. Very friendly staff. Parking can be difficult on busy surrounding streets. Newer sister practice on park drive.

I can't fault this practise. Starters they have lovely receptionist!! I have been coming to this practise since I was a child however In 2008 I went to university in Buckinghamshire and ended up staying down south. I still would never change my dentist. Recently I had major pain, I couldn't get seen by any emergency dentists down south. But when contacting Howard, he fit me in straight away. He really did go above and beyond in my 48 hours of agonising pain. He is truly the best dentist and I know everyone who has him would ageee!!

I have been a patient (along with my "Terrified of Dentists late wife, Anne) since before Ivory Dental Care called itself that and expanded significantly. So I have gone from a full-ish set of teeth in the mid-1980s through losing all of them (not the fault of the dentists) and finding Charlotte who specialised in creating comfortably-fitting two sets of false-teeth. I cannot praise Ivory too highly in terms of amiable, helpful admin and nursing assistant staff, and superb dentists, Geoff and Andrew in particular. It must help children in particular that the Whitegate Drives premises still feel like a comfy converted home, though the actual surgery rooms are as up-to-date and immaculate as one would expect. Just keep up these enviably high standards, folks.

This is unfortunately a negative review of Ivory Dental Care, Blackpool. I had been registered with this dental practice for over 30 years since a small child with Mr Woodhouse. Initially it was a small practice who appeared to care for their patients. Over the last few years they have expanded and added many more dentists to the practice. My entire family is registered here including my husband, 2 children, mother and step father. Over the years I had braces as a child, impacted wisdom teeth removed, fillings and root fillings with various dentists at the practice. I was registered privately there with Scott Singleton who has been a great dentist - very patient with me as I suffer with terrible anxiety during treatments. Unfortunately this year I have had a terrible time with my teeth as my medication has affected my teeth and I have seen the dentist for treatment around 10 times this year so far. Due to my health I have also been hospitalised many times (some by emergency) over the last 6 months which unfortunately led to me missing 2 appointments with the dentist. Presently I have 2 temporarily root filled teeth, one of which I have terrible daily pain and I have to apply clove oil and take Nurofen daily to cope with the pain. My dentist had been on a 2 week holiday so I was waiting for him to return to finish the treatment. I re-scheduled due to my ill-health however on the evening before my appointment I was admitted to A&E and was unable to get a phone signal to leave a message for the receptionist. The next day I called to apologise and offer to pay a fine to account for the missed appointment. Despite this the receptionist told me I had been removed from the practice and to go elsewhere to complete my root canal treatment - such as the walk in centre. I explained how distressed I was and that I could provide medical evidence for my health condition. I was told that the management team had already made the decision. The fact that I have been with the practice for over 30 years accounts for nothing. It appears that personal circumstances (beyond my control) also account for nothing. I have suffered with terrible debilitating tooth pain and side effects during my treatments over the last 6 months. In early summer I experienced excruciating tooth pain for an entire month during my treatment. After 2 failed root canal treatments and around 8 injections over several days I was left with a numb tongue and left side of face for 6 weeks as the needle pricked my main nerve. The root filling was left open and exposed for a week which was awful. Mid Summer before going on a 2 week holiday I visited the practice as I was in severe pain with a cracked filling. Rather than removing the cracked (infected) filling, it was simply sealed over as a temporary measure. I then spent 2 weeks of my holiday with throbbing pain. I took that many anti-inflammatories I swelled up and needed medical attention. Despite all this I did not complain or make fuss as I wanted to remain with Mr Singleton as he is so caring and patient. Along side all this I have been dealing with a debilitating spinal condition. I am having a second surgery on my spine within the next few weeks - I take 140mg of Morphine twice a day to cope with the pain. I won't be seeking another dentist at this time despite my tooth pain. As mentioned I have dental anxiety and I would rather deal with the pain than have to look for another dentist to complete my treatment. I'd like to say thank you personally to Scott for your services and patience with me during my anxious moments - I also apologise for missing my appointment this week. I'd also like to say how upset and disappointed I am with 'Ivory Dental Care' as a practice. Their modern facilities may look impressive however their management team appear to care nothing for long standing patients or their personal circumstances.
