My Mum suffered a suspected stroke and was taken to St Mary’s for treatment where she received excellent care from the medical staff and a very professional service on June 7th. She sadly died from her condition before I could get there but the care, genuine empathy and concern for my Mum, and my brother who was on his own with her, was outstanding. The staff were absolutely brilliant and just so kind. I don’t remember all the names unfortunately but I do remember Hayley and a female vicar who were particularly brilliant. I just love the NHS - there when you need them and second to none. I wish you were paid what you’re worth and were properly funded so you didn’t have to work so hard. Thanks so much for all you did on that day; it is very much appreciated.
My mum was taken into St Mary’s two days ago. Her care from the staff in A&E was amazing, even though they are working under extreme pressure. She spent 24hrs in A&E before a bed was found for her, during her time the care was second to none. I could not believe the amount of people waiting in the department for treatment, but the staff were gentle, kind and sensitive to their needs. These people need recognition for the work they do during this very difficult time. Thank you
The staff here are extremely helpful and pleasant. I have been here several times recently into different departments and always been treated with respect and consideration. I am a strong believer that you get back what you give, so if you are polite you will be treated politely back.
I have just undergone a total hip replacement. I want to thank everyone from the consultant downwards and that includes even the lovely tea ladies in Alverstone ward. The care in every way was genuine and sympathetic. No request was too big or small. What lovely people. If you are waiting for a procedure be assured you will be well looked after. With thanks and respect. Jackie Williams.
My mother recently spent a few days in hospital, she received good care as far as I can tell. There is zero communication and as my mother is 85 and partially deaf I was unable to contact her on her mobile. Thankfully she was able to leave today and was taken to the discharge lounge where she had to wait 4.5 hours for medication, absolutely disgraceful!!! The discharge lounge is completely unsigned, had anyone mentioned it was in the field hospital I may have been able to locate it a lot quicker.
Totally useless at any sort of comunication. Two family members have been in during the past week with critical conditions. As we are not able to visit we have to rely on communication over the phone.Trying to find out how our relatives are, what their diagnosis is and the treatment they are having is impossible. After four days we still do not have answers to either of these questions. Every time we phone we are told someone will phone back, when they don't we keep trying only to eventually told they are no longer on shift! Totally unacceptable
I have received care, kindness and fantastic treatment in the last eight weeks following an accident in Newport. I praise and thank every member of the team that I have had the pleasure to be helped by at St Marys!
On 1st July 2019 I underwent elective surgery and had a total hip replacement. Although I had to endure a 40 week wait and two cancellations, I would just like to say the following. From my admission, the surgery and my stay in Mottistone suit as an NHS patient. My treatment and care has been absolutely wonderful. Everyone from the theater staff, nurses and non medical staff have been brilliant and I cannot thank them enough.
If I could give zero I would. Messed around, couldn't get through to anyone in the Pathology department for over a month left 5 voicemails and an email The information in the letter I received was wrong and when I did finally get through to someone they were completely useless.
Had a breast screening appointment. They messed up my appointment and kept tossing me forward and backwards to different ends of the hospital for 2 hours. At the end I had to give up.
