One of the best Japanese ramen you can get in London. Rich broth and perfectly firm chewy noodles, will have you going back for more. The only downside is there is always a queue! Waiting time is usually quite quick, the longest we waited was probably like 45 minutes, but definitely worth the wait. Value: 3.5/5 Food: 5/5 Instagramable: 2.5/5
I expected more from "Ippudo-Style fried chicken", which turned out to be just regular fried chicken though it still made a tasty side dish. I was about to order the Shiromaru Classic for a taste of their original broth first then add some extra spicy sauce/oil on top during the meal, but glad I didn't, as there were no condiments at the table at customers' disposal. If you fancy adjusting the level of spice / flavors by yourself, then this is not the ramen restaurant for you. Noodles and broth of Karaka-Men were very nice but not the best. It should be spicy enough for the majority but not as spicy as the Extra Hot available at Tonkotsu. Portions of pork and mushrooms were obviously smaller than average, not to mention the higher price as well as the need to pay an extra £2 for even just one ramen egg, which by the way was very well made with a runnier center. Overall I enjoyed my lunch. It is a pricier ramen restaurant, but I believe I will revisit as their drinks menu sounds really interesting, plus staff were friendly which is a bonus.
Great experience. We ordered the vegan bao bun, the spicy ramen, the mushroom ramen, and the tofu don. Also for drinks the ube spritz and a beer. The service was good, the location also good. The food was very tasty, slightly overpriced for the portion served though. The drinks were ok. Nevertheless would visit again as it is one of the best options of that area. Vegetarian options: Vegan options available
What a find! Popped in for a quick lunch and straight into a gastronomic dream. I had the karaka-men with extra egg. The broth was amazing and the more I are the better the taste got. I also had pickled cucumber on the side. Highly recommended!Food: 5/5
One of our favourite places to go for ramen. Nice broth with tender charshu. Love the chicken kara-age and the buns too. A little pricey for the portions though. There’s always a queue and the wait can be quite long. Not very pleasant when it rains or during cold weather.
It was my first time having ramen and l love it. We have different types of ramen the mild is a bit spicy. Service was good.
We went to the restaurant as walk in customer, and the queueing for seating was quick. Ordering was quick as well. Drinks arrived first, and then the food. I ordered the vegetable ramen I am sorry, I forgot the menu name, with extra soft boiled egg, and iced green tea. Bear in mind that the ice green tea was without any sugar at all, so it's bit bitter, but it's allright for me, as I prefer sweet drinks. The portion of ramen is big, it's fulfilling, and umami! Sooo tasty, and spicy, because I chose the spicy one. Would definitely come back :
We went in for dinner yesterday. The host gave off bad vibes even before trying the restaurant. My husband called in advance to ask about their availability and he was extremely rude on the phone. When we got to the restaurant, there was a standing sign that was literally blocking the door like they are closed. We had to move the sign to go in. And there was the host who talked to us on the phone, forget greeting. All he did was showing his two fingers and pointing us to the seat. I noticed that he was the same way to other customers too. I was wondering why they hired a guy like that to be the host here. And then an Asian girl came in by herself, he immediately greeted her with such a cheerful hello and even showed her options asking where she would like to sit. Too obvious, isn’t it? Aside from bad service, the food itself was pretty good. My husband got ramen and the broth was delicious even though the noodle was floury to our taste. I got chicken katsu curry. It was good, except that the portion size was small. We might get delivery if we don’t find another good option around here but don’t think we will go in for dinner service. Not worth it.
Perhaps the best ramen in London. Noodles are cooked perfect according to the order you can choose the firmness of your noodles. Can be a little crowded and may need wait in the queue to get served, but table turnover is quick
Food was great but unfortunately the service was not optimal. I had to ask the waiter 3 times to place our order and 3 times for the bill. Bad service has been a common theme for the past few times that I visited Ippudo. Hope the service improves as the food is usually brilliant.
