A Mantra for Hein and his team would be "Customer First" I am very happy with the help, support and service from Imperial Cars I have been a company car driver for 20+ years, so Buying my own car had become an Alien experience for me, with Insurance, Tax, Log Books all new experience once more.. . With so many car options online via Auto Trader etc, i decided to visit Imperial to view one particular car but became lost in a sea of plenty, with so many makes and models to suit all ages and lifestyles, I really needed Imperials Time, Guidance and most importantly Patience!!! Michael helped me to find my ideal car, one which i didn't even know existed until He listened to my needs and gave me a test drive. Alex, helped with the purchase, tax. insurance, He again listened to my needs and took on board all my concerns to work through a deal which met both our needs. I did pay for the extended 5 yr warranty, but it was very reasonable price and I received a 1 yr complimentary RAC membership too. FYI, The Claybar and Gardx is worth every penny, the car is like new.. I was soon on the road with my new 16 plate BMW 330e. But any dealership worth its salt would offer this service wouldn't they? , Sadly No... But imperial had restored my faith once more... Hein Manager and his team did take time to listen, worked with me to find the right car and also took responsibility for an issue i found after 1 day's purchase. Should you need an immaculate, Good Quality, Low Mileage car then i and would highly recommend Imperial to any first time driver, retired or anybody in between. They have the car for you! A HUGE THANK YOU
I could not have had a more positive car buying experience. From initial contact, to visiting the showroom for a test drive, the actual car itself and for the extra mile the sales guy Daniel Massih at the Northampton showroom went to, to make the buying process complete. The guys knew I was buying my wife a car for her birthday and when we went to collect the car they had decorated it and placed flowers inside for her as well. Totally happy with everyone we dealt with from the sales floor to the MD who I met on my visit. Absolutely first class and I will definitely recommend them to anybody and buy from Imperial again when the time comes. Chris Rose
I phoned in advance to test drive a BMW 1 series sport in the Northampton store, which the manager, Kelly, informed was in store. Upon arrival they took us out for a test drive in a more expensive M sport, which was greater than our agreed budget. They took the car to a local busy petrol station and filled up whilst we waited in the car. The general manager, Kelly, did not check my license until after the test drive. When we got back I was then strongly encouraged to sign a waiver after the test drive. I was then asked if I would like to buy the car. We asked to see the Sport version but was told this wasn’t in store but in Southampton - despite being told an hour earlier it was in Northampton. I then asked to view the interior of a basic 1 series to compare vs the M sport as we had asked for a sport, not M sport. After 10 minutes of waiting we were invited to take a look. After sitting in the car for the best part of two minutes, the manager launched an astonishing verbal attack in-store, asking us not to waste their time; citing we didn’t know what we were looking for and we had looked at too many cars - despite sitting in one and testing driving another, both part of the BMW 1 series family. This is without doubt the worst customer experience I’ve come across, not least because this was a potentially £15k purchase. It was totally unprofessional, aggressive and rude. Absolutely no way I would buy a car from here.
I find buying cars very stressful. You don't really know what your getting beyond service history and, if you think about it, neither does the sales guy. It takes a certain personality type to be able to sell expensive items to stressed out people day in day out, so you have to bear this in mind. There is nothing dodgy about the operation but ii is a supermarket model so be prepared to sit around waiting for them to get back to you from time to time. . Also be prepared for a very hard sell on the post 3 month warranty. Research whether you want this before you go for less stress, although you can like I did get this refunded up to 14 days. If you do not want this.. just say "no thank you" 3 times and state that you aren't happy to make that bet it is a bet and that you have read allot of negatives about post sales warranty in this market and then explain that you have politely refused 3 times and that you will take the transaction no further if you have to refuse again.. they should stop at this point if you sound like you mean it... I had my new purchase checked out by a BMW specialist the next day and he stated it was a good buy. It was a fair price. Pretty good overall but it is a high-turnover- low margin model and you can't expect them to polish your shoes for you while you wait. Post sales - I had lost my V5 - was excellent.
I was greeted by Ben who was friendly and professional. He did his very best to get me the top price on my part exchange car, my experience with him was EXCEPTIONAL. I saw Levi next who also worked hard on my finance application. Prior to this I went to another big car retailers in the area with rude staff who pressure customers. Imperial Cars are the best by a mile. I have recommended a friend who is looking forward to visiting them. Best of all; I love my new car! Thank you so much. I'll see you again when I need an upgrade :
Fantastic service with very little pressure selling. Very pleased with my new astra. Ben and Alex who served me were very nice genuine guys! They were very keen for me to get extended warranty but when I declined they didn’t press the subject. I felt very well looked after by both of them. Definitely a much better experience than at CarShop Northampton! Will 100% use again when getting my next car.
Good cars at decent prices but the customer service is poor. I arranged to purchase a car, seen on the website, with the sales team at Northampton. I have now waited for an hour and a half for them to send over the paperwork via email to complete the purchase. Still nothing has arrived. I've tried calling them but no one is available. It can't be such a difficult thing to organise. update So, apparently the email went astray. When I did finally get a call back and the chance to explain that I hadn't received the paperwork, it arrived in five minutes. However, when I went to pick up the car it took another hour and a half of me sitting through the sales blurb for an extended warranty. Frustrating, but the cars they have are decent, mainly low mileage, and at a sensible price. So its a bit swings and roundabouts.
Nice set up. Nice range of cars. My general experience of these "car supermarkets" was shared at Imperial Cars, however. It is quite a pressured sales environment. A product of low basic salaries and high commissions for sales people I think. The guy who dealt with us was very accommodating and friendly initially. However when he found out we wouldn't be buying today he just walked away. We are serious buyers actually looking for two cars quite imminently, just not today. That aside we quite enjoyed viewing a good range of well prepared cars.
Found car on Autotrader in the morning. Booked a test drive via the chat feature on their website. Turned up at noon. Test drove two cars, chose one. All that and paperwork done inside 2 hours. Great service. Great value and car could have been ready same day if we had had some more time. Excellent!
My initial contact was via the telephone with a conversation with Charlotte who arrange the car I was interested in to be transferred to Northampton branch. Upon seeing the car I was delighted. Troy, the sales guy was brilliant very personable, knowledgeable and took time to explain everything thoroughly and worked hard to get a part exchange figure for my car that I decided to accept. The sales controller came over to thank us for our business which was a nice touch. Richard, the handover guy, though being under pressure because his colleague in that department was off sick remained calm, thorough and very pleasant. Between them they made my partner and I comfortable and confident to do business with Imperial Cars. Thank you to all at Imperial Cars, I would thoroughly recommend them.
