AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! If I could give this company minus 5 stars I would. Honestly, if you go into the street and throw your money into the nearest rubbish bin it would be a better use for it than giving it to these guys! When I first applied to IAS my case got "upgraded" to Kirsty Hird, operating from the Glasgow office, for an extra £200. I didn't mind paying extra for added expertise; however, what I got instead of expertise was a very unprofessional approach and lack of even the most basic knowledge. Namely, in my initial meeting: * Kirsty was completely unprepared; * She confessed she had never before applied for ILR under my circumstances (i.e. ILR based on 5 years under Tier 2 General) and only has experience with extending Tier 2 applications; * She did not know what application form needs to be used for my case and after browsing the internet for about 20 minutes had to call someone else to clarify that; * She could not give me specific information on the documents required for my application; * She could not give me specific guidelines on employment letters and other documents that need to be prepared (e.g. what information should be mentioned in the employment letter, what format it should be in, etc.); * She gave me wrong information on an objective fact (the minimum salary required for the ILR application - she said it was 30k, when I pointed out it's 35k she played it off as if she was talking about Tier 2 applications, which also wouldn't be accurate); * When we were going through the form together, Kirsty kept saying that certain questions don't make sense, that they are - and I quote - "clear as mud", and she could never clarify any questions I had either. So, instead of leaving me feeling positive and reassured, the meeting completely undermined my confidence and raised way more questions about the application itself than I'd had before. It was a complete waste of my time, my annual leave and my commuting money. I requested a refund in writing and didn't hear back for a while; when I called the company, my case got assigned to John Oborn who never listened to anything I was saying, kept breaking his own promises and ignoring my emails and calls. Despite me asking for a refund and clearly stating I had no intention of going ahead with the application through IAS any longer, after a few days of silence after our initial conversation with John I got a call from an unknown IAS solicitor who barely spoke any English, yet advised he would be picking up my case going forward... Long story short, it took me 4 weeks and a lot of wasted nerve cells to get back the money they charged me on the very first call - and even then they still kept £150 for my meeting with Kirsty, even though that experience was truly shocking and I ended up advising her on the field that she is supposed to be an expert in. All in all, I've never had a worse experience with any other company in my entire life, and I strongly recommend that you and all your friends avoid having anything to do with them. Shame on you, IAS, for taking advantage of the people who are by default in a vulnerable position when they come to you for advice!

Impeccably Great! Kirsty Hird is a name I am going to remember for the rest of my life, and so will my family, and highly likely my friend who is yet to use the service. I had waited over two years for my citizenship decision from the Home Office when I used IAS to sort it out for me. When I first met with Kirsty, I made it clear that I was not interested in chaser letters, and Kirsty perfectly understood my concerns and advised me that I should instruct them to send the Pre Action Protocol letter, AKA PAP Letter, and that the Home Office would do something about it. Bingo! It worked! I have got my decision. Guess what, I would still have been waiting for my decision had it not been Kirsty's amazingly and flawlessly drafted PAP letter, which seemed to have made the Home Office review their work policies, and issue decisions in a timely manner. Now, NEVER think twice to use service if you can think of no other alternatives with the Home Office. Well Done Kirsty! And, my friend is soon to use your services. :)
