Story

Il Baretto is located in the heart of Central London, between Marylebone High Street and Baker Street. Since its opening in April 2009, it has built its reputation with a simple and authentic Italian menu which draws influence from the speciality dishes and produce of regional Italy. The menu combines Italian favourites including the popular Veal Milanese and Salt Baked Seabass, with modern classics such as Lobster Linguine and Octopus Carpacci0. The northern Italian influenced pizza which is cooked in an open wood burning oven is not to be missed.

Translating to little bar, Il Baretto offers an extensive wine and cocktail list which makes it a popular spot for an aperitif A lively atmosphere awaits you in the basement restaurant, where deep mahogany tables, banquette seating and glass faced wine cellar, cut a contemporary line against this largely traditional Italian dining experience.

Love this spot for authentic, hearty Italian food and delicious wine! The shaved truffle pasta and the saffron risotto are my favourites.
Below average, the starter we had, eggplant parmigiana was burned and so dry, the eggplant tasted like rubber, it could be an old eggplant. The pasta dishes were under cooked and didn’t have a good flavor. You don’t get why you pay for. Our bill was about £140 for just two starters and two mains. We have waited ages for each meal course. Will not go there again and I won’t recommend it.
Beautiful Italian in Marylebone. The buratta is divine, it simply melts in your mouth and pizzas so fresh and tasty. All ingredients are of premuim quality. Great service. Staff are very welcoming.
Fantastic little restaurant, nestled away just opposite Chiltern Firehouse. Il Baretto is a 'must visit' for my Middle Eastern clients when they are in town. The food is top drawer and the service is excellent. I would highly recommend a visit and the Lobster Spaghetti is not to be missed!
Great food and an ok cocktail. I found it odd that such a nice restaurant had a TV showing sports, but it was just in the bar area upstairs. I didn't have a reservation, so I sat at the counter overlooking the stairs. It was fine spot for one person. I thought the service was fast and friendly, and overall would recommend eating here. Might come back and try the pizza or risotto!
The food is very good. The service is a bit slow. Will definitely come again.
I have to say the service was on point. We sat down, ordered and food and drinks came promptly. Definitely was a good birthday dinner.

Food was tasty but I must admit rather overpriced for Italian! The service reeeeeally dragged this place down! Tried far too hard with little success. Unfortunately our waiter probably had a very very very bad day. Seemed to be all over the place and a little clueless. Then came the bill, or more to the point the bill was forced upon us. By that I mean we were asked if we wanted the bill about 5 times in the space of 2 mins! we paid and then the waiter realized he forgot to add the wine, so pay again we did. All in all a terrible experience on this occasion, when it came to service and by no means worth what we had paid for it. There are definitely better Italian restaurants at half the price and just as tasty, if not tastier!
Wow, loved this place. The EV olive oil and balsamic to dip bread is so gorgeous, I had to buy a bottle of the oil to take home. We had the lunch set menu. Here's a pic of the burratta and the baby squid starters. The pasta is sublime too. My Singapore Sling cocktail was beautifully made and perfect. I'll definitely go a la carte next time. It's expensive but so worth it.
