"Caldesi in Marylebone is the flagship restaurant of TV Chef Giancarlo Caldesi's group of restaurants and cookery schools. Occupying its 'Corner of Italy in Marylebone' the restaurant is adjacent to La Cucina Caldesi the Italian cookery school. The mix of great produce from artisan producers and simple yet deft lightness of touch in the cookery makes for a truly authentic Italian dining experience. You'll notice many Italian ex-pats eat here which is always a good sign of quality and authenticity."

Caldesi is truly exceptional! From the moment you step inside, you feel the warmth and kindness of the staff. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality set the tone for a wonderful dining experience. The food is outstanding, with beautifully presented dishes that are as delicious as they are visually appealing. It has become a must-visit spot for us on every trip to London. A special thank you to the team for accommodating us with a table, even on short notice. Highly recommended!
I think Caldesi has a really nice vibe and overall the food is good but for the price I think you can get better elsewhere. I think the service is good and the staff are friendly but for the price you pay I would expect slightly more in terms of service. We weren’t asked for repeat drink orders or how our food was for the main course. Of course the price is also a reflection on the location so it’s not surprising to me that it’s expensive I just think they could work on consistency of the food as well as more attention to detail. It does get very busy and of course busy operations can also affect the above.
A spectacular find. One of our best and most authentic dining experiences in London during our recent week-long stay. Delicious Italian food. Margareta pizza with garlic, the best veal schnitzel and calamari were faultless. Lemoncello spritiz was refreshing and finally, the tiramasu was the perfect end to the meal. Lovely staff and we even met the owner and his wife who checked on us during dinner to make sure we were enjoying their food. Be sure to book though as it is very popular with locals and tourists like us. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for vegetarians
The food is very good and feels like home made. The service string and the restaurant cute. It is a great location in Marylebone Lane and could update decor a little but it is really nice. The pasta was good and I had a bit of fish my guest had which was very well done. They have a cooking school around the corner which sounds interesting to try some time. A good wholesome place to have Italian food anytime. Recommended.
Delicious Italian food in a quaint setting Went back almost 2 years later and it was quite good! The truffle pasta was noteworthy. Lovely service as always.Food: 4/5
We went last night for my husband‘s birthday. The food was absolutely delicious. Even though it’s more expensive than restaurants we normally go to, it was worth every penny. Thank you Caldesi for making such a lovely evening.Food: 5/5
Overall, dining experience at this restaurant was a delight from start to finish. We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday. The food was delicious, especially the FETTUCCINE TRUFFLE, mouth watering. The impeccable service, and charming ambiance made for a memorable experience.Food: 5/5
Not as good as expected for a supposedly "top end" restaurant: It was a bit cold downstairs. Despite it was mostly empty we were given the table by the stairs, which was wobbly. Food was good but pricey, there is this other small franchise I enjoy the same and price is half. Desserts maybe not best as tiramisu looked like more a mouse. Service wad basic, they add 13% on bill service charge. Accidentally charged us a bottle of water for 5.5 but it was removed from the bill.
We chose to eat from the set menu for lunch which, for me as a carnivore was fine and my food was excellent. However my wife is a vegetarian and there was no vegetarian option for a main course which was a shame. When she asked whether one could be provided from the a la carte menu our waiter said this was not possible so they offered the meat pasta without the meat. Needless to say this was disappointing. Our main gripe was the price of the wines -only one at under £50. That's ridiculous. When I stood up to leave I noticed that there was only water beirng consumed on every table! I wonder why!!! Add the 13% mandatory service charge and it's an expensive drink!
Fine Italian dinning. Veal Milanese is a signature dish. Aldo was excellent and attentive. I would definitely go backFood: 5/5
