Really nice apartments. They have shared flats and studios. They have TVs in their living spaces. The shared flats were for 5 people I think.
Silverfish manifestation, constant constructing, this year they installed the most horrendous and uncomfortable doorsteps so you can get lots of bruises while trying to keep the door open while you bring everything to your room. Is overpriced as they don’t offer cleaning service or laundry on the final price. Only pros are that there are freebie’s sometimes on the reception and the size of the room is good.
Possibly a fabulous place to hang out but as a parent who will probably be expected to foot the bill of child living here I would want to understand why a 'common room' with 5 seats, 1 TV and a Pool table is supposed to serve 200+ students. Why each room has an apalling lack of ventilation. What the crime rate in the area is. How on earth you evacuate top floor flats that resemble battery hen coups in the event of a fire. Students very nice peolle doing guided tours clearly very carefully briefed to give the 'right' answers without appearing all that convincing! You're paying a premium for fresh paint, carpets and a private company's profits. It's a funny old world...
Generally decent student accommodation, staff are lovely and my room is of decent quality although things to break quite often and it can be quite noisy. Maintenance is lovely though special thanks to Steve!
Place is fine. But they do so many stupid unecessary checks it feels like i can t have any privacy cuz every second some guy will come to check if my door closes by itself really? Don t you think i d report it if my door didnt close properly? So dumb
I really regret for choosing this accommodation bcoz there's a constant site checks almost everyday...even though I took a studio here I can't have my privacy as someone keeps knocking the door for checking the doors or fire blanket. The fire alarm goes on suddenly even at mid nights without any reason and for the sake of checking something or the other they need the room access. Even when we're not at the room they have key access for our rooms and come inside for checking. There's no privacy in this accommodation.
Maintenance were very good. Had issue with the flush, reported it and was fixed within a day. Super friendly and helpful
Mainly posting for maintenance, all jobs that are requested to be fixed are done quickly with brilliant service and results
My guy Steve came in & fixed my light within hours of me filling out a maintenance form.
I stayed here for my second year of university and it was absolutely awful. I’d moved to this accommodation as it was closer to university and had heard from course mates at university that it was pretty calm and quiet. It’s anything but. My room was on the ground floor next to the block entrance and I became increasingly more stressed/agitated as time went on because of the sheer amount of noise I’m on the autistic spectrum and have sensory and communication difficulties - I approached the management team in regards to the possibility of moving rooms/flats if they were available and their rather rude reply essentially insinuated to ‘find a new tenancy elsewhere if I wasn’t happy’ without wishing to confront or help with the issue at hand. I ended up having to travel home for long weekends every couple of weeks because I just couldn’t cope or deal with the stress of that place. On top of this, the contract we as tenants signed stated we’d be considerate and quiet between 11pm-7am yet staff did absolutely nothing to enforce this. There were tenants regularly smoking weed/skunk outside my window and yet not one member of staff caught them once?? There is a HUGE silverfish infestation. No matter how many times i would report this to maintenance, they always returned - it probably didn’t help that the condition of the flats themselves are in such shocking conditions. The staff at the time who worked in reception were belittling and dismissive so I felt too intimidated by both them and the management to pursue any matters further. Management don’t care about students’ health and well-being, they specifically refer to themselves as a ‘business’ and show no shred of decency towards providing a duty of care to those paying money to stay there. Honestly, the day I moved out was such a relief. Don’t be fooled by the cheap rent - don’t ever stay here if you actually want a decent night’s sleep and an easy living experience.
