Please note the owners have recently changed & all the regulars I know are saying this place has gone downhill bring back Massimo & Silvia! Once the best pizza shop in Leicester! Was a Great lunch time spot always busy but efficient & friendly service.

If I was filing this review a week ago, it would have been 5 stars. The food WAS amazing. Full of flavor and you could tell the chef and the owner cared. It WAS easily the best food place in Leicester. Unfortunately, this last week, a sadness happened. The store was sold. Today was their first day in business under new ownership. The meatballs tasted like frozen processed mush, and were covered in what tasted like blended red. When I say red, I mean that that's literally what it tasted like. Red was what appeared to be tomato, but it tasted very similar to how I can only imagine lumpy red water would. What was once the best food place in leicester has given me nothing but disappointment and bland tasting food today. I'm sorry to see you go Buongustai.

UPDATE: So the owner is now saying I'm a liar just because I made a critical review. Do you want to eat from a place ran by someone like that? My review is totally genuine. Before this change of management I must have eaten at Buongustai around 2 dozen times at least. The end of Buongustai is proof of entropy in the universe, and that no good thing lasts. This pizza place was the best in Leicester quite decisively, the pizza tasted amazing, came in very large portions and was very well priced. Needless to say, someone saw that it was possible to bank on the incredibly good name and reputation that had been so quickly established, by taking over and in the process removing 90% of the menu, and replacing what was left with the absolute cheapest possible product all the while INCREASING the prices. A cynical cash grab on possibly my favourite place to eat in Leicester. Please leave this place and do not buy from there anymore. Maybe the owners will come to their senses and realise that this short-sighted cash grab will cost them in the long run.

We used to have a team lunch from here every Friday but having recently visited the portion size has gone down along with value for money. You also don't get a side salad anymore. Typical of new management cutting corners. Not what it used to be and such a shame that this is the case but they've just lost an office full of customers.

I visited last week to get my usual (pizza slice) and was disappointed. I could immediately tell something was different- the dough was too chewy and the toppings were sloppy. It didn't taste freshly prepared like the pizzas here used to. I've been coming for a few years but if the quality has fallen this much following the change in ownership I don't think I'll come back. Hoping it can improve.
