Love this place. Great food, low prices, and lots of "2 for 1" meal specials. Very hard working staff and friendly customers. They have a pool table, darts, slot fruit machines, the claw game for the kids. Check out the "mega English breakfast" pic!
It's a Hungry Horse, so you know it's going to be bog standard cheap food. Half of our tables food turned up thirty minutes before the rest who had ordered roast dinners. The roast was not good, not sure which Sunday it was cooked on but it definitely wasn't on the day... It was cold, vegetables were still raw and the roast potatoes were deep fried for some reason. I think what came in a ramekin was meant to be gravy, maybe it was in a previous life? Those who ordered off of the normal menu had okay food. At least we had pudding, which again came with a big gap between puddings being served.
Food was pretty awful, burgers tasted awful and had a bad texture. Bar staff lady was pretty rude when telling us that something was not on the menu! Will not come back.
Definitely will not be going there again the food arrived cold and looked like it been over cooked and all dry up. Asked for refund, still not received it they said it could take a couple days. Save your money. Given 1 star thats being kind it should be zero.
Good food friendly helpful staff. Spent a couple of hours here. Relaxed atmosphere. Good menu option's. Can get busy when football is on so would recommend booking to get a table. Large free carpark available. Toilets on site. Desserts were lovely here and again you get a good selection to choose from. We visited here on a couple of occasions when on holiday in the local area. Recommend a visit here if you are in the area.
The staff are amazing. They are attentive, polite, and friendly. If you are after a meal, the food is great, well cooked and hot. But do consider if its a game night the one half of the pub is beyond rowdy. If you go to the front of the pub it's more relaxed and family orientated and much more enjoyable. Overall, the whole place needs a lick of paint, new furniture and carpets, and the chambers need completely gutting. But the staff make this place and are a complete asset. Especially Amy; she has been on shift my last view visits and she is fantastic.
Excellent value for money, great food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly & helpful staff and a comprehensive meal & dessert menu made two visits here pleasant experiences. Various ongoing daily special offers and meal deals are well worth a look! Had realistic expectations and this family friendly Hungry Horse establishment did not disappoint in any way at all with no issues of any nature to pass comment on. The Ultimate Candymania is must dessert! Recommended to visit!
Delicious breakfast - freshly prepared and well made. The portion sizes are impressive. The Breakfast in Bread was superb. I'll definitely return to enjoy other items in the menu. Top tip - don't do what I did and order drinks in advance, order your coffee with the breakfast meal and its cheaper!
We came here for a cheap straight forward meal and a drink on Sunday evening. We didn't want any fuss like at a wagamama or the scum stuck to the tables at McDonald's and this place was absolutely great. We didn't expect much but we enjoyed our food and the atmosphere which was quiet and will come again. The only thing I will say is that the toilets smell a bit. But otherwise we liked it. Food was also great and very reasonably priced with nothing over £14 on the food menu.
Went here for our daughters birthday. 5 of us in total. Met by a member of staff who sorted a table for us. 4 of us had a starter. Pan fried garlic mushrooms which were lovely. Next we had 2 full monty mix grills, 1 gammon 1 rump steak and a vegetarian stack. Every body in joyed there meal. I would recommend this place. Very friendly and very pleasant staff. Very nice inside as well.
