HSBC spend money on advertising new accounts, but they simply can't deliver! After over 3 weeks of trying to set up an account for my daughter and trying hard I finally gave in. By contrast, Nationwide across the road was friendly, efficient and you can call the branch direct rather than a centralised number with a poor choice of options if you are a potential new customer.
