I accompanied my son, who is severely sight impaired, to pay in money to his new First Direct account. My husband had looked up where we could do this, and this branch came up as nearest. We went in at 11.45am, and there were no staff and a few customers standing around waiting to be helped. Three members of staff came out over the next few minutes, one female and two gentlemen. One of these gentlemen called out, "Do you need help?" From across the shop, I indicated that my son did. He uses a white cane, its large, and with a large ball at the end of the cane. He moved over to us and spoke to me, not my son, and again, I indicated the customer was my son, not me. He shrugged and said, "What do you need?" My son explained, and before he'd fished, the gentlemen was dismissing us! He walked off, saying, "You can't do that here. You have to go to the post office. We don't do first direct." He was so rude and requires some customer service training not just because he had no idea to deal with someone who was sight impaired but also because your website says you can pay in money for first direct. If you couldn't at this branch, he could have said this, but he chose to dismiss us in the rudest way possible, absolutely disgusting.
I went to my bank this morning to put some money into my account and got there at 10.30 ish only to find they no longer open on a Saturday . I work Mon to Fri the time they are now open is 9-5 Mon to Fri I live in Great Barr West Bromwich is my nearest branch. How is it that all the other banks on the high street are open but you choose to close yours. How on earth are we who work 9 to 5 able to visit the branch this is so unfair. I checked the machine outside to see if I could pay my cash in that way as the bank was closed and that too was out of order. Not good not happy .
Now unable to pay in cash at the home branch of my bank. Website claims they have a counter service, but that is not correct. Incredible!
The customer service I have received today has been wonderful thanks to a man called Arvi and his apprentice. Every query I had got resolved even after the branch was closed to the public. I felt looked after. I don’t have a HSBC account I am managing someone else’s - things can get tricky with these things. It helps when someone knows what they’re doing and gets it done.
I went to West bromwich branch about 11 ish as I feared I had been scammed , I was helpand supported by a lady named Aga who was professional empathic and put me through to fraud team , a credit to the team a amazing branch member many thanks d cunningham sutton
I came in to do a international payment in branch. The branch was empty at this point. I walked straight up to the counter asked for information to be provided for international payments. The cashier just stared at computer screen for so many minutes. Then comes out and says to me no one available to carry out transaction. I insisted on getting help to do the transaction as I never did a international transaction before. They sat me down. I see two female members in the banking hall chatting away one casually sitting. No other customers served I approached them to say how long will I be waiting as my car parking will run out. They were so rude and said other staff at lunch and they couldnt help me. The branch was practically empty and they had so many staff members hardly doing anything. Very disappointed with the service. They then intentionally kept me and my daughter waiting in a room they had us sat in they were getting other customers seen that came in after we had been in branch.
This is a very, very busy branch with a queue constantly out of the door. The staff do their best, but given the communication problems that often arise in such a multi lingual area progress is often very slow. If you can use a machine for your service, such as paying in cash etc, then it is a great little branch, if you want counter service I'd go somewhere else.
Very abrupt staff member, not helpful, first time going into store since they changed it, should of explained how and what we should do, was made to feel like a fool! Will never go back into that branch. Terrible customer service!!!!!
Totally fed up with HSBC. You cant talk to them on the phone as they have so many procedures and hoops that you have to go through. I only want to ask them how I can pay a bill to them. Today I have come to their branch only to find that they are closed during buisness hours for refurbishment. They didnt even think that they should update their online opening times. I am not happy as I have just paid for my parking. Their slogan should be "We Never Fail To Dissapppoint".
One off their staff member messed up my payment for my car finance. 2 working days later they called saying it was their error, they would rectify the issue. It coming to almost two weeks and they still haven’t recovered my money. This particular branch is where it happened. Shocking complacency on their part, and you know they are hopeless when the bank manager himself advises you to complain!
