Getting an appointment here is like finding gold at the end of a rainbow, by time you've rang all appointments you gone, I've walked in for appointment before too and receptionist are just sat with with pizzas and cups of hot drinks chatting about TV and plans, like no wonder we can't get appointments. Once we do get appointments for Dr's and nurses are amazing. I've tried 90 times to call them today as in agony the 111 service told me to ring doctors I do and no answer. Not great
Went for my blood test today. Sat there for 15 minutes only to be told the appointment had be made for Cape Horn not Hoyland. Asked how I had made appointment l, told receptionist nurse had done it. Alternative appointment made only to find later I couldn’t make it. Phoned practice to be told no appointment on system. Appointment only find when it was questioned with original receptionist. Disorganised service. UPDATE 30.07.22 LETTER SENT FROM PRACTICE THREATENING TO REMOVE ME FOR BEING “ABUSIVE”. CLEARLY DOESN’T PAY TO COMPLAIN. #INTIMIDATION UPDATE 01.09.22 After long email conversations with the GP Partner the accusation of my abusive and threatening behaviour has been withdrawn. I am satisfied my word has been taken, although it shouldn’t have gotten to the stage it did, but have been told new protocols are to be put in place. I have agreed to raise my Google rating from 1* but as this situation should never have happened in the first place, I feel the new rating represents my perception of the surgery at present.
When I first joined the practice it was great, no issues getting through or an appointment and I had a brilliant doctor that really cared and helped me alot but now it is impossible to get through. Been in the same position in the call queue for over 25 minutes now so assume no one is answering the phone. I am calling to book an appointment for my poorly baby and can't get through. Previously told she couldn't be seen as there was no appointments but she's a very young child and should be seen. When I was last poorly I called and could not get an appointment, so I contacted my doctor at hand through work healthcare who said I had to be seen. They sent the details to my GP and the GP called me and said to come in straight away no appointment needed, the waiting room had no one sat waiting and only an elderly lady unable to get an appointment. I was lucky to have healthcare through work, without it my GP wouldn't see me. It's shocking can't get my head around it. However the doctors are great once you get an appointment with them and the doctors seem to really care about their patients and don't rush you. The doctors are whats saving the surgery.
Only giving a two because it’s NHS and I understand there under funded badly. But when iv had two appointments in five years and really struggled to get them, had no results after seeing them just told to deal with my issues I think it’s ridiculous. Rang today for an appointment and told they haven’t got any but can ring back on Tuesday for one? If youv no appointments in two weeks why tell me to ring back on Tuesday? Website has false information stating you can ring any time to book an appointment, also stating you can walk down at 8 AM for emergency appointments, when you do you get sent away? The way the receptionist speak to you is so rude making you feel like you shouldn’t be there and giving almost no help other then telling you to ring back. When you ring you can’t even get through, 50 phone calls later just to get told no appointments? Go on NHS website for help and advice, they tell you to ring your GP but can’t get through? Disgusting
Changed over the years! Was a amazing doctors before, I asked for help from my doctors regarding a mri scan at Weston park, I couldn’t get through yo weston park and my doctor said if I have any trouble to get in touch, so I did, to be told by a receptionist no! I pointed out it was not her job to refuse me then be told your not the only one with cancer you know! I don’t have cancer anymore and I don’t appreciate being spoke to like that, not to mention I’ve ordered my last 2 prescriptions online, may I add this is endocrimetherepy, to stop my hormones which previously fed my cancer, it was a grade 3 which spreads quicker and more likely to return, so I have this treatment for 5-10 years, everyday tablets and monthly injections, both I order then collect and take to my appointments, so the first time I ordered it I was told I hadn’t but already screenshot, second time it was put in the bin and the letter from the doctors states this, it’s not even the doctors it’s the receptionist, now I’m getting threatened that I will have to go to Weston park for my injections if I continue to take this further, I will be taking it further but refused to be bullied by a receptionist for asking for help!
The reception staff ruin the whole experience, they just talk to you like they know everything and don't think about patient care at all, I dropped a letter from Hallamshire hospital to update my doctor - it got lost!!! I had to chase myself! I was also asked for a sample and the receptionist talked down to me so abruptly that there is no compassion at all.
Pleasant staff, always helpful, professional and courteous. Great sign in system. Pleasant waiting area. Chemist on site and cafe, plus a library. Great doctors and nurses. 10/10.
Getting a little tired of being passed off to a triage nurse.. seems we pay taxes fir other people to see actual GP’s… can’t recall the last time I saw a GP. Doesn’t give much faith with regard to being in good hands.
Until now, I've not had may issues with the practice other than getting an appointment. Called today to get a repeat prescription for my son - what a joke! "Is there a reason you can't come in and request it" - Ya, I'm at work. "I'll do it this time put you will have to hand in a request the next time" - OK so I'll travel up there to request it and then travel back a few days later to go pick it up - That makes total sense.....NOT! Why is it so hard to do it over the phone. Over the last 2 yrs you didn't want anyone going into the surgery. I would do it on my App but his details aren't on, only my own. Stop making things so difficult!
Fantastic service here. Have managed to get two appointments to be seen same day recently, friendly receptionist, empathetic medical staff who listened and were very helpful. Surprised at all the bad reviews- only had positive experiences so far.
