Amazing experience flying 1.5 metres above the waves We had an incredible time on Hovertravel! It's a unique experience, and the kids loved it! Under 10 minutes to fly from Southsea to the Isle of Wight.
We booked the hoovercraft experience for £20 each, it was well worth the money, but be prepared they can not guarantee on/off and back on the next crossing, we went in 3 times over 2 days, we got on the 3rd time but if it's fully booked the ones that have booked the experience have to wait for the next available crossing, staff all really polite, smiley and helpful, souvenirs all a good price.
Absolutely fantastic way to get from mainland UK Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight. My partner and I did a day trip over and the Hovercraft was simple cost effective way of getting there without spending years on the ferry! Only a 10 minute crossing and it wasn’t full on the way there or the way back; absolutely would do it again.
Easy to book, clear information, simple check-in process. Clean waiting areas. Only one toilet available. Very clear information and guidance provided for a 20 minute delay on the return journey. Plus, the novel & exciting experience of being on a hovercraft! Really well run. Friendly staff.
Wow what great fun. And a quick convenient way of getting to I.o.w for a day trip. My kids loved it, my wallet however, not so much. £60 for 2 adults day return is costly. But a family treat for my fiancées 40th that everyone loved
The fastest way to travel to and from the Isle Of Wight. A 10 minute flight brings you straight to Ryde and if you need the train or bus it's a few minutes walk to the interchange.
Great day out to Ryde on the Isle of wight, so easy to jump on hovercraft from Southsea which was a very reasonable £60 return for 5 of us and took just 10 minutes each way

An absolutely brilliant way to travel to or from the Isle of Wight, really fast, just 10 minutes from Southsea to Ryde. A great experience.
I've been on the hovercraft several times now, visiting family on the island. I always book online in advance. I drive from Crawley and park in the long stay car park which is reasonable. The staff at both terminals are helpful and smiley!! The crossing is so quick and easy. It's great!.
