Dear Potters Bar Community Hospital, I would like to thank each and every one of your staff members, for their kind treatment throughout my time at the hospital. I have spent several months now living in the hospital, and I have to say, the patience, kindness and positivity of each staff member has not gone unnoticed. I have been admitted to a few hospitals in my time, and this hospital is by far the best I have been to. The level of care is far superior to other hospitals. I may not have always been the easiest person to care for, being in hospital and not being able to walk for weeks was very testing for me. However, the staff always stayed positive, calm, reassuring and patient with me. They stayed patient with me as I struggled to eat, walk and even talk at times. This has all massively helped with my recovery. Therefore, I would like to say a massive thank you to you all. I am so impressed at how the staff stay so positive during their long shifts, when they are short staffed and have many other patients to care for. Thank you and I’m sure anyone else in your care will feel exactly the same as I did. Kind Regards, Malcolm Ruben
Unfortunately I have no positive view of this place. The staff were either I’ll trained or rude and patronising with the exception of the doctor and matron in charge. The physios were lovely and almost made up for this 3 week nightmare. The worse part was the food. I am lactose intolerant and was given virtually no food as their budget was insufficient and they had no kitchen apparently. It was suggested that I get Deliveroo. Only positive is that the rooms are generally single and not wards.
I have attended the hospital this morning and I would like to express my concerns and worries. I was very unhappy with the number of people in the waiting room with no distancing and no ventilation. I felt like leaving but I didn't want to miss my appointment. This is a complaint concerning myself and many others but it is also not fair on your staff working in these condition.
I am being discharged today following a month in this wonderful hospital. I have nothing but praise for everything about this facility. The building itself is quite attractive and modern and the public areas inside are well decorated and welcoming. The rooms for patients are soothing and well equipped with one exception. There is no WiFi. Most importantly, however, is the professionalism and dedication of the staff. I found this to be outstanding. The doctors kept right on top of any clinical problems, the physiotherapists worked hard to get me walking again and the nurses and support staff were always there, with a cheerful face, whenever needed. With the exception of the lack of WiFi, I could not fault any aspect of this hospital. Even the food was quite good. David Sealy
Sorry to put the boot in, but I don’t recognise the institution I’m sitting in now from these reviews. I realise fully how badly-resources the NHS is, but this experience has been poor to say the least. I’m waiting for an X-Ray, and came here based on my wife’s experience - she, apparently was straight in and out. Firstly, the parking provision is poor, and is exacerbated by local restrictions, which mean that offsite parking is very restricted - it’s quite clear that the local council and the hospital don’t talk to each other - as I was walking back the very brisk 15-minute walk from where I eventually managed to find a place to leave my car, I saw that there were metered spaces within about 5 minutes, but no mention of that on the site of what looks like a new hospital. Then, it took 70 minutes after its advertised start for the clinic to open, due to the non-appearance of the radiographer. Add to this the almost total absence of any staff, and the total effect is quite dystopian. It’s as well I warned my line manager that it could take a long time...this is appalling, and we all need to take responsibility for a situation in which basic services are allowed to founder because no government has had the guts to levy realistic taxes in the last 30 years...the day-to-day NHS is like the parable of the donkey that, as soon as its owner had got it used to living without food, died of starvation
The family planning clinic is absolutely ridiculous. They OPEN at 7pm but start turning people away at that time if they reach their "maximum capacity". You would think it would be easier for people to go here if they work full time, think again.
Family Planning Clinic - Awful! No appointments and the worst receptionist ever, her name is Arlene Millar, rude, unpleasant, so necessary this kind of behaviour. Customers service apparently skill which is not required from NHS staff.
Had a blood test this morning at 8am. Nurse was totally amazing. On time, welcoming and I literally didn't feel a thing. Thank you for your kindness.
I worked here and parking was a nightmare, no air conditioning either. Can't comment on the hospital itself.
