I called in at Holy Trinity en route to visit Ripon's two St.Wilfrids and was shown around by a charming lady - whose name I'm afraid escapes me ! The development of the undercroft was particularly interesting from an architectural point of view and was obviously very 'user-friendly'. The lofty proportions of the church's interior came as something of a surprise after the confines of the undercroft - but what a glorious
light-filled space and how wonderfully the colours of the stained glass windows were reflected back by the glass panelling of the balcony! I'm sure that Holy Trinity is greatly valued by all it's parishioners and would urge any other passers-by to pay it a visit and see how contemporary architecture can breathe new life into an old church - not that it necessarily needed it.
