Sue the vet was brilliant at handling our nervous dog when having his yearly vaccination and health check. She was very calm when he displayed aggression. It made the experience a lot less stressful for us and our pup. I highly recommend Sue as a vet. She gave good advice on how we can tackle future appointments for our nervous dog.
On the whole a great practice between Sherburn and Brayton. I’ve had some really positive experiences, but during my latest appointment I had a vet who was rude to me, belittling, and demanded I physically restrained my dog by holding his head still a dog who loves the vets and is a little giddy but has never required this during any other appointment. She was dismissive and rude and I won’t be allowing her to see my dog again.
The overall experience was positive. The receptionist and the vet were helpful.
Fabulous staff both the reception staff snd veterinary team welcoming and attentive Made our Gypsy retired Guide dog feel so special Every option available discussed including cost if various treatments available
Great vets I definitely recommend. Been using them for 20 years plus .The only downside is that Sherburn practice is only open 2 days a week
Myself and my Puppy visited Holmefield for the first time for his second vaccinations. Being a new dog mum I was a little nervous and not really knowing what to expect. The practice was easy to find. There was plenty of convenient parking and it was well sign posted. When I walked in, the lady behind reception greeted us pleasantly and took our details. We had a very short wait in a clean and well presented waiting area, the Vet came out and introduced herself to us and we went in for our consultation. The vet was fantastic the whole time. She was wonderful with our pup and was very helpful, informative and soothing, answering any questions I had. I had a slight concern about urine, and although I was told it is likely all ok, the vet gave me a urine sample kit to give me peace of mind. I was informed of the health plan that is offered by the practice and I have to say what a great idea. The peace of mind and spreading of yearly costs that it brings is brilliant and I signed up right away. Just the money saved on the jabs alone pay for the service for 5 months. Entirely worth it. The practice was 30 minutes from closing when I called to see if they would like me to bring the urine sample I had collected and they said it was fine to bring now. Within 1 hour of dropping off the sample I received a message from the surgery to say all looked well. It was personalised and I thought it was a really nice touch! Excellent first experience, genuinely nice caring staff. Thank you very much for making that experience a pleasant one for both me and my puppy.
Excellent service and super friendly staff. I called last week to get a second opinion about my dog’s condition. Given the circumstances he was in a very bad condition we were seen immediately even though previous vets took weeks looking at him and referred to the hospital within hours. Thank you so much!
Super quick service at Sherburn today - seen very promptly and he's now on the mend!
Our first experience with the Sherburn clinic unfortunately wasn’t very pleasant. My dog is extremely nervous at the vets, so much so that it took us a good few months to get him comfortable at the Brayton clinic his usual. He still gets jittery there but not so much anymore. Unfortunately he has conjunctivitis and the first appointment they could get him into was Sherburn so I agreed because of the urgency of the situation. He was already panting and visibly stressed when we walked in and the vet wanted him to get onto the scales. He had already been weighed the previous week for his flea treatment which was explained to the vet, however she insisted he needed weighing again and proceeded to force my dog onto the scales resulting in him being even more stressed and he was the same weight as the previous week anyway. He understandably didn’t want to go with the vet who he had never met before, but she took him back to get some help checking his eye. While I was sat at the front I could hear her shouting at him, she then came out as he was pulling on the lead to get to me and proceeded to tell me that he ‘needs training’ and that he’s ‘badly behaved’. She didn’t let me get a word in edgeways to explain the fact that actually we’ve tried really hard to desensitise him to the vets and usually goes to the other practice where he recognises the people and gets treated with affection and not just shouted at. Immediately moving to another vet which is a shame because all of our other experiences have been really good, however this experience will have set us back a million steps in getting him comfortable at the vets and I’m not willing to risk it again.
well checked over happy to answer any question sue great vet always happy to take my fur babies there
