Hollybank House was a breath of fresh air and one of the loveliest B&B experiences that I've had. The house is an absolutely charming historic home with a beautiful grounds and distant views over the ocean.nnI stayed in the blue room, which was clean and cozy -- I was traveling by myself, so it was the perfect size, but if you're accustomed to more space as a couple then maybe it would be a little too cozy. The rest of the house and common areas are also quite beautiful and lovingly maintained. I think that maybe the best part of my stay was the breakfast. There are lots of hot options, and a nice continental spread as well. I opted for the full english and it was absolutely perfect. Also had a good chat with Viv over breakfast -- he's quite a lovely and interesting host.nnThere are some good walking paths nearby to the north, and you can get to Stansted Park by following the trails up north through the woods. There's also a lovely harbor about a 30 minute walk from the house. Overall just a really lovely location in a beautiful coastal town :
What a beautiful place to stay. The house, rooms, garden were all outstanding. Just a shame we couldn’t stay for breakfast as we had a boat to catch.
Very beautiful house with spacious rooms and features. beautiful gardens in a country setting .the breakfast was best a good start to the day. don't forget the owners you wouldn't find any better. thank you for our stay been really great see you soon
Hollybank House recently hosted a reception for around 55 people following my mother-in-law's funeral a 5-minute drive from The Oaks Crematorium. The venue was perfect - a lovely 200-year old spacious house, with lots of character, set in 12 acres of beautiful, peaceful grounds. Ian was very helpful, courteous, efficient and flexible from our initial conversation onwards. The house and its hosts were perfect for our needs and created a homely, relaxed atmosphere. Our buffet, although simple and traditional, was delicious and of high quality, with discreet yet friendly attention from Ian, Roz and their family. I would highly recommend Hollybank House for any similar occasion.
Excellent stay, only wished we had booked more than one night - we will need to come back !
